  1. Ok, maybe that was something different. I didn't know you could charge a CC directly in the casino. Usually the change is to your onboard account and this is where you would see the 3% charge.
  2. Or just write "none of your business " and turn the form in. I say that to be funny, but I actually had a rep tell me to just write"personal "
  3. yeah, they really doing it tricky right now. The price you see when you search for the sailing is half price from the "regular" price and charged per person: So that is why you see the price for the cabin as 2 times the listed price, instead of just once (with the 2nd person being free) as you would expect. So, the bottom line price doesn't change at all. It's just a trick to make you think a promotion is going on
  4. you can. just know that there is a 3% fee. There is also a daily limit, but I'm not sure what that limit is
  5. no. Honestly, this idea that the staff knows is news to me. Not that I would care
  6. This was at some point during the week (I believe the 2nd or 3rd day) when I filled out the form. The DSC continued to hit my account each day, then on the last day all the charges dropped off. The guest services agent explained to me that it would work this way, so I was not concerned to see it being added to my bill each day.
  7. I've done it as recently as this past October. they don't give you a hard time at all. You fill out the form and give it back. No questions were asked at all by the guest service agent
  8. removing the DSC is an easy and straight forward process. You go to guest services and say you want to remove the DSC. They will give you a form to fill out. there is a section on the form for you to put a reason, but it doesn't matter what you put in there. You can simply put "personal" in the box. You will still the the daily charge hit your account each day. Then on the last night, all the charges will drop off. that is how it works if you remove the DSC completely. I don't know how they do the charges/adjustments if you simply change the amount of the DSC. I'm guessing you'd see the full charge each day, then they will adjust the amount accordingly on the last night
  9. No, you can go to guest services and have them adjusted or removed. You don't have to wait until after the cruise. You probably wouldn't have much luck after the cruise
  10. if you happen to gamble on land based casinos and receive a certificate or NCL discount thru that casino, you get a drink card no matter your standing with NCL. you don't have to cycle thru any $$$ on NCL to earn the card
  11. It's really not about the total amount and whether it breaks the bank or not. We all decide what we're willing to spend money on. While I enjoyed having coffee delivered every morning, I'm not willing to pay $5 for it. I can just go to the buffet, get some coffee, and return to my cabin to get showered/dressed. That being said, I have no problem going to the craps table and putting $100 on the pass line. I'll miss the coffee delivery, but I'm not pissed or anything. I just put it into the "oh well" category. My cruise will not by any less awesome because of it
  12. oh. You may be right. I didn't realize there was anything you had to pay for. I thought everything was free, but there was simply a room service charge. I definitely wouldn't pay for anything I could go get from the buffet for free
  13. there is 20% gratuity, so it's $6 per day. the $2 delivery tip would be what you'd choose to give the delivery person, but it's in addition to the 20% already added to the order
  14. the problem is you're only opting out of the gratuities. You're still paying for the drink package in the cruise fare
  15. on NCL, you get whatever promo is being offered when you book. Right now, 3rd and 4th guest are free, so if you have a NCL comp, now would be a good time to book
  16. oh well, I guess I'll add a coffee travel mug to my packing list. I'll go up to the buffet and fill it up in the morning
  17. I really hope this is not true. I really enjoyed my carafe of coffee delivered each morning to have while I got dressed, along with a danish, muffin, or yogurt.
  18. no. they are bigger than those vans. There is an isle to walk down with rows of seats on both sides.
  19. yes, or at least pretty much almost walking onto the ship. You have to be connected to the ship's wireless, and it doesn't bleed over to the terminal
  20. Cortrans leaves from the port at 8:30, 9:30. and 10:30, for $30. They don't wait until the buses fill up. they pre-book, so when everyone for that departure shows up, they leave. These are 15 passenger buses, not the big "greyhound" type buses. I use them for all my MCO departures. It's a nice husband/wife owned company. I'm not sure if we're allowed to post links here. Just google Cortans Orlando, and their site will be at the top of the results
  21. the app is useful when you're onboard. You can see the freestyle daily on it as well as check your reservations. You can also make reservations on the app. I would recommend downloading the app before you get on the ship, though.
