  1. I can see why they would prefer to keep tipping. I'm sure at the end of the day, they make more with tips. Especially when you consider that anything this is paid via a paycheck is taxed. And yes, I know they are supposed to pay taxes on all income, but we know that not everyone reports all the cash they earn when filing out their taxes
  2. That's what the front of the t shirt says, with B**CH on the back
  3. Yes I went from inside to balcony with a minimum $75 bid on the getaway this past October
  4. yes, I'm saying to just let them know what you're using and everyone doesn't have to use the same. What I don't know is the particulars of your Amex voucher, but there should be terms and conditions available to you with respect to that voucher
  5. 2nd on the dumplings at Shanghai. And the egg rolls. And know that the portions are more tapas style than a full order that you'd get from a traditional restaurant. So order multiple entrees
  6. - There is poker on board. When you enter the casino, look for the craps table side. The poker table is located on that side of the casino behind the black jack tables. - You can show up anytime at the MDRs - they do have Latin parties, but you'd have to check the freestyle dalies for time/location. Of course there is no guarantee there will be one on a 3 night sailing
  7. yes, you can use it (as well as the vouchers) with others that are using free at sea. Just realize that the rules will be different depending on what mode of payment you're using. Of course, if you're only entitled to one appetizer (or you're paying a la carte) , but you're eating with someone that is using free at sea, they can order the apps and sides and share with the table
  8. NCL still hasn't updated the website with the double points promo, but thanks to this posting, we all know that it's double points right now on the insider's offer. But what I just discovered is that there are also additional cruises available. I just happened to be logged in when I was searching for cruises for December, 2023. I noticed that those cruises was showing the past guest promo. If you search for the eligible cruises based on what is shown on the past guest section of the website, the eligible cruises stop in October. I'm going to make platinum after my March cruise, so points won't mean as much to me at that point, but it's a 12 day cruise I'm looking to book next December so 36 points would still be a nice haul.
  9. honestly, there is only one thing that you absolutely have to do..... HAVE AN AWESOME TIME!!!!!
  10. Sunset bar does have nice seating. Just to let you know, you'll be next to the cigar lounge. I don't think the smoke permeates the area because there are always a crowd of people sitting out there. I'm a cigar smoker so I could simply be oblivious to it
  11. It's on the cruise next page: https://www.ncl.com/cruisenext
  12. I had always hoped to do those cruises to nowhere, but I never got around to doing it.
  13. It's honestly not worth the risk to just show up. I would say that most 7 day cruises has at least $150 in port fees/taxes and there will be $140 in admin fees. So, $300 per person at least. So you'd pay $600 at least for the two of you. You could probably get a studio for less or just a little more
  14. It's actually pretty funny if you are booking solo. They still show that you're getting the 2nd guest free, and slash the price in half, even for a solo cabin. Just more proof that it's all monopoly money
  15. ahhh, good catch. I'm sure it's some kind of "out" clause
  16. WOW. Is this a NCL list? Or did the agent actually confirm that they sell all of these onboard? I always decline the drink package, but I may re-think that (as well as upgrade to premium plus) just to try some of these.
  17. just realized I had a typo. It's now $50 per excursion
  18. I agree. The comp food is more than good enough. I now do one or two specialty dinners only because they come with the free at sea. Otherwise, I'd have no interest. My next cruise is on the escape, and I'm a little bummed that they don't have a Shanghai's onboard
