  1. Arriving about 2:15 pm from Boston. I would rather take a train anytime.
  2. Same here. We're taking Amtrak to Newark Penn on the 13th.
  3. Notifying passengers the night prior to the cruise doesn't seem like enough time to cancel flights or hotels if the cruise is cancelled. I'd hate to have traveled to the cruise port only to be informed it's cancelled.
  4. Do you have a handicap placard? If so, maybe bring it with it you, and flash it to people as you make your requests.
  5. I'm due to leave for Greenland next month on Royal Caribbean. It has 9 sea days as well with 5 ports. Halifax, 3 in Greenland and St. John's Newfoundland. A few years back we did Hawaii on Princess which also had 9 sea days. It was so relaxing, yet there was plenty to do onboard that we were never board. I envy you on Princess. I'll bet they do a really nice enrichment program for Greenland, as they did on our Hawaiian and Alaskan cruises. Enjoy!
  6. Hope you have a good weather. If by chance you take a taxi, be sure they run the meter.
  7. LOL, ya well I did, and ya, they told me I didn't need to notify them. Then they proceeded to lock me out of my account when I tried to use my debit card at a Canadian ATM. They shouldn't assume that everyone has an international cell phone plan.
  8. Yes, the bus station and Amtrak, as well as local commuter rail and the subway are all located at South Station. There is a local (silver line) bus from South Station to the Cruise Terminal if you choose not to walk.
  9. I hope you have an international calling plan. I didn't and my bank locked my debit card when I tried to use an ATM in Canada. They emailed me to ask if it was me, but I had no cell or internet service.
  10. I agree. Many go to Antarctica as a bucket list destination. Those cruises are very $$$$ and don't even go to the mainland, but just to islands off the mainland. Look at it this way, if you depart from the east coast of the US, it's not too $$, and you actually go to the mainland of Greenland, And native people reside there. There's a culture to experience and learn about. I think these reasons make it more than "worth seeing".
  11. I agree. Princess knows Alaska, and does it right!
  12. What is the corkage fee? Is there no fee if consumed in your cabin?
  13. I would say it's no different than any other warm destination. The temps onboard are comfortable with a/c.
  14. When on NCL tours were tendered to a different port than where the cable cars are located. Buses meet you there.
  15. They do not pickup at the port anymore, but there are taxis at the port and we had no problem getting to the rental agency, but we also went just prior to the busy season, so keep that in mind.
  16. Yes, taxi stand is right at terminal. It as about $10 for us. When we returned, the rental agency called a taxi for us and we were back onboard 30 minutes later. Mind you, it was not a busy day or season when we were there.
  17. Update: We had no problem with having an available car with Budget. In fact, they let us upgrade to a larger vehicle for room for friends who joined us, at no extra charge.
  18. I'm sure they'll be plenty of taxis at the cruise port, and they told me they'd call a cab for us when we return the car.
  19. Update: I called Budget/Avis in Sydney and they said their shuttle service doesn't go to the cruise terminal.
  20. They will be in "low season" until May 22nd, so you can only walk around on the grounds. No entry inside any building.
  21. The Sumner Tunnel from downtown to Logan Airport will be closed for repairs from Friday night at 11:00 pm through the weekend, but you can take the Ted Williams Tunnel instead.
  22. Thank you to all who responded. Upon reading the small print of my booking, it appears that although I'm shown a remaining balance in U.S. dollars, it's still tied to the pound sterling, and the exchange will be taken into account at the time of payment.
  23. Thank you to all who responded. I decided to upgrade to the GB balcony grade today for a small upcharge. I'm happy with my decision.
  24. You're correct. I have an agent who works for P&O in the U.S., but she's only available during certain hours, and I was hoping to get an answer here.
