  13. Darwin is not on the GBR, it is close to 1700km away. You may find that you will have to do a ship's excursion. Are you stopping at Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays? At Airlie Beach, the tour operators for the GBR ship's excursions pick you up from the ship anchored in the bay and return you in time to sail.
  14. We have been to Te Puia on an excursion from Tauranga. It wasn't a ship's excursion but one we booked ourselves through Viator. There were only a 10 of us in a modern Mercedes van. We enjoyed it and gave us a good overview of the geysers and Maori culture. As part of the excursion we also visted a kiwi fruit farm on the way to Rotorua and before going to Te Puia we drove through the redwood forest and visted a few local sights.
  15. The Australian ETA is valid for 6 months I believe. That information should be in the links provided.
  16. This is the link for the NZeTA - NZeTA which can be applied for either online or through the NZeTA app. Buchhalm has provided a link above for information on the Australian ETA. Both the NZeTA and the ETA should be approved very quickly, usually within minutes but occasionally there will be a hold up.
  17. The Aus ETA can only be applied for through the Australian ETA app and not on the website as in the past. The link you provided does have this information on it.

  20. We spent an hour or so at the Cairns Museum on the corner of Lake and Shields Street. It covers the history of Cairns very well and it was really interesting. It is just over a ten minute walk from the cruise ship terminal.
  21. Each time I've been to town or driven through in the past 12 months, the city has been busy. My husband goes in each Friday either driving or by train and says it is very busy, the roads and trains are back to pre covid conditions.
  22. 2 metres of snow is a lot of snow in only that amount of time. It was very wintery in Melbourne yesterday - strong, very cold winds and bands of heavy showers with hail. Still windy today, but not as strong as yesterday and it doesn't feel as cold.
  23. I just did a google search and the only levy I could find is the airport one of $5.10 other than the tempory $1 passenger service levy. We have been charged a different amount each time we have used a taxi to or from the airport. I think it depends which way the driver goes.
