  1. Marion, the Aus ETA has to be done on an app as from February this year.
  2. Cruising has restarted as of this week with P&O Aus Pacific Explorer doing a return cruise from Sydney to Brisbane. Coral Princess is due to arrive this month and other cruise lines will have ships here in time for the summer season in October. There have been small ships (under 100 passengers I believe) since last year doing cruises around the northern part of the country. Tourism is really ramping up and international tourists are returning. There will be plenty of things to do in both NZ and Australia. Yes, you quite often can pick up tours at the dock.
  3. From the Australian Home Affairs website, from 6th April, you apply on the Australian ETA app available from the Apple Store or Google Play Store and in most cases you will be notified of the result immediately - Australian ETA There is no Visa Application Charge (VAC). There may be an application service charge of AUD20. You will also need a NZeTA - NZ ETA For a NZeTA - Cost and processing time Requesting an NZeTA costs NZD $9 through the app or NZD $12 if you use the online form Allow up to 72 hours for processing, although it could take as little as 10 minutes. The IVL If you are entering New Zealand you must also pay an IVL, which funds tourism infrastructure and helps protect our natural environment. You pay the IVL at the same time as you request your NZeTA. The IVL costs NZD $35. As long as you don't need to renew or replace your passport, you can obtain your ETA or NZeTA anytime I believe. But do check the websites for the information required.
  4. Thank you but it appears you need the app to open the menu but I downloaded the sample menu from the website. We dined at Luke's on our first cruise (Pacific Dawn) for our wedding anniversary. We were given a bottle of champers and shared it with a young couple sitting at the next table. I see my favourite dessert, the licorice parfait is still on the menu. Enjoy your return voyage to Sydney.
  5. We were charged for the shuttle from the grain terminal back in 2015 and also took the ferry from Portside. Love that cruise up the river to the CBD.
  6. Wait for your new passport as once your current passport expires, the ETA does too. Visa label We will digitally link your visa to your passport. You will not get a label in your passport. Your ETA is attached to your current passport. If your current passport expires or you get a new passport: your ETA will cease you must apply for a new ETA
  7. Buddy's tribunal hearing has been put off until tomorrow at 5pm because the Swans' legal counsel was not available today.

  9. I do the same Mic. Agree, very tasty.
  10. We had home made Italian pies last night. Some left over for lunch.
  11. I agree with those who suggest a night in Sydney after your cruise ends. We have been delayed getting back into Sydney by hours and would have missed a 12pm flight. Like Rassa, we are from Melbourne and never book a flight until the afternoon. In the past we have taken the train because we have had time but if it is of the essence, taxi or Uber is best.
  12. Homemade sausage rolls for us for lunch today. Very nice on a cool Melbourne day even though the sun was shining, not much warmth in it.
  13. We did a NZ cruise in November, we were fortunate and had fine weather for the whole cruise. It was slightly cooler in the very south but the northern ports had lovely sunny days. But of course weather is unpredictable so I would always suggest always taking a light waterproof jacket. We did all private tours and never had a problem. Also of course much cheaper than ship's tours. I would suggest to check the companies by looking at reviews of their tours.
  14. Yes, you can use your iphone as wifi hotspot to connect your ipad or other device to wifi. It's very easy to do. To use an iphone as a wifi hotspot, go into Settings, and click on Personal Hotspot and swipe across Allow Others To Join to allow access, You will then see there is a password for you to use and instructions how to connect your device. Very easy. I use it reguarly.
  15. Thanks Brandee. We're doing ok. I'm finding my sore throat is the worse symptom so far. I have coughed a couple of times today, hopefully that will settle.
  16. Thanks all for your best wishes to Rob and I. We are getting plenty of rest and keeping the fluids up. We receive a text message from our local health authority a couple of times each day to complete a questionaire on our symptons and how we are feeling. Even though Rob was out of isolation yesterday he is still receiving the texts - we feel we are being looked after quite well. No Les, didn't get it off grandsons, they haven't had it and test reguarly. We have been careful, we think Rob probably caught it when he was at the local football club for dinner, a few days before testing positive.
  17. Thank you Geoff. I hope so too. So far symptoms aren't too bad, fingers crossed that continues. Hope you are well.
  18. Thank you. Yes, plenty of water being drunk and lots of rest. Have you recovered from your bout of Covid?
