  1. Speaking of the Miracle, my April 2025 booking out of Galveston has been missing from the site for a few weeks now. When I search it always comes back as " Oh Snap " ! So I think they may be tinkering with the post dry dock schedule for The Miracle in April 2025.
  2. Thanks for the info, I have not encountered this phenomenon before 😉 and it doesn't specify that on the posted pic of the letter.
  3. You are correct. It may be better and cheaper for Carnival to acknowledge the difficulty of this party and just in lieu of offer that $12.50 drink for any time during the cruise. Would be better for company and cruisers alike, with the exception of cheers/DOU people. These people already have no reason to go to the party now.
  4. One hour before? Good luck with that! Sometimes it takes 20 minutes on a regular basis, then throw in the tsunami of people trying to get this one hour before drink. It's going to be a stampede 🤣
  5. Degrade the party until people stop showing up for it, then cancel it due to lack of attendance/interest. This sounds vaguely familiar!
  6. Exactly. IF your booking name doesn't match your photo ID then there will be proof needed. Probably millions of women cruise with a different last name on their photo id than birth certificate each year. This is normal and if there was a big hassle we would surely know out here.
  7. She will be fine. They check the birth date and first, middle name for a match. Just make sure her booking name matches her photo ID (driver's license). Also make sure it is government issued birth certificate and not a hospital one.
  8. Guess I have to wait a bit longer also. I cannot even find the Carnival sweepstake in their closed section.
  9. The Spirit(2001) is a bit long in the tooth but does not hand out cash for the 25 dollars if you choose slots. They loaded to my casino bank so I asked for table games instead. Worked out good and I made 70 dollars at the craps table but with the 10 dollar minimum it goes fast.
  10. I booked through a big box TA and cancelled a cruise but never got an email about any FCC after I cancelled an early saver rate. I had to call the big box and then they helped me move the money left over to another cruise.
  11. I have bought these onboard also and checked the balance shortly after purchase. I believe the wifi allows free access to carnival sites so you can check your balance and nip any problems in the bud.
  12. Would you consider adopting me. I am 56 and housebroken!
  13. Here's a hypothetical. The Captain and Tennille book a cruise together for 500 per person or 1000 dollars total for the room. Two weeks before sail date The Captain gets called off for a solo gig. Since this is the 100 percent penalty phase for cancellations, his 500 dollar fare is confiscated as penalty for a partial cancellation of the booking. The 500 dollars just went poof to penalty per the terms of the cruise contract. Poor Tennille has now only paid 500 dollars of the 1000 dollar booking and will be assessed the remaining 500 dollars to make the booking whole again. This is why people say to no show because it is not a cancellation. Weird, but that is how it works.
  14. The other problem with the Allstate cards now is the discount has been dropped to 8 percent plus they only ship physical cards that cost 1.75 per 100 dollar card and 5 dollars per 500 dollar card. This deflates the savings even more. AARP has 10 percent off with edelivery and no shipping so it adds up real quick. I wouldn't bother signing up for a dying rewards program at Allstate unfortuntalely.
  15. I have bookings disappear also occasionally. Logging out and logging back in clear up the issue just about every time.
  16. In all fairness it is both Allstate and AARP for now. Mods married the Allstate thread with AARP since Allstate is heading for extinction. the first 230 pages here are Allstate.
  17. That would be nice but as blerkone says it is a maybe. I will ask after I get to 24. Can't count my chickens until they hatch since I am at 19 cruises right now.
  18. It wasn't planned that way. I didn't even know about milestone cruise until fairly recently then counted my cruises. I am at 19 now but the Alaska 14 day next April will be number 25. I have a couple of shorter cruises back to back. If I can't use it for this one I can wait I guess until I have another more expensive cruise.
  19. I would say most definitely an Allstate decision. Must be a money loser. Their heart clearly hasn't been into it for quite a while.
  20. I guess all I can do is try then!
  21. Does anyone here know if you can apply the credit on the actual milestone cruise? My 25th will be a 14 day to Alaska and would be great for the OBC. I have heard yes and no.
  22. Carnival for some odd reason has given up on providing a booking summary to download with luggage tags etc. I know it doesn't save them money so I am left scratching my head why they would get rid of something that has been around for many years and is surely computer generated!
  23. Caveat..... there are some fares where the person who originally booked does have to show to qualify for the low rate. Mostly casino rates but there could be other offers also that have this requirement.
  24. Prices have definitely gone higher. My Tampa cruise on the Pride March 24, 2024 8K balcony I paid $1817 with prepaid gratuities in April 2022. Same room category same cruise is now $2828 which is an increase of 55 percent in 15 months! As far as gratuities go, I think Carnival's current method is best. When you are compelled, it is no longer a gratuity. I think having the option to remove keeps the workers on their toes to provide good service as most surely do! Besides this issue, I am guessing there would be some tax consequences for Carnival if it became a mandatory charge.
  25. Carnival never throws me any special bones, I have to scrap around 🤣. So its 10 percent off AARP gift cards and whatever I can find either directly through Carnival or big box. Longer cruises tend to be big box and the 5 day variety I usually go direct.
