  1. You can make it worth it, it just depends on how much weight you don't mind putting on to make it worth it. Cheers would have been great in my twenties and thirties but I am now 56 so it is a hard pass for me. I have had cheers once when my daughter bought it for me and realized it isn't for me as I am on the downhill side of the mountain.
  2. Yes, an 18 percent gratuity is included. However, Carnival now lists this gratuity as a " service charge" and then includes another gratuity line below it, which will cause some/many unsuspecting people to add yet another gratuity because they aren't aware the " service charge" is the tip! Carnival used to list the built in gratuity as such, and then add a line that was "additional gratuity". They really muddied the water on gratuities, which comes across to me as being somewhat deceptive.
  3. The area around the screen is enclosed along with one of the main pools. The movies were operating just fine on the Spirit in May going to Alaska, where it is cold as most cruises are going to get.
  4. The spirit has it also. I cruised to Alaska in May and it is there. A nice setup in my opinion. The whole area around the screen is enclosed with the pool.
  5. The big screen seems to work out fine on the other Spirit class ships. Probably not in the budget at this time. The screen is in a nice protected, covered area on the other ships.
  6. No table cloth on regular days has been around for years but I think the none on "elegant" night is a newer phenomenon. I don't care one way or the other myself but for now the Spirit has table cloth every night. I'm sure Carnival can't wait to get rid of the old tables on the Spirit at next dry dock along with the casino bar 😉 .
  7. The last few ships I have been on Carnival doesn't even bother with table cloth any more on their " elegant" night. The only thing going is the food is a bit better with steak/lobster.
  8. There are no ecards of any type on Allstate now. I had to fall to my back up AARP yesterday to get my daughter some ecards for Carnival.
  9. It's always good to have more than one weapon in your arsenal. Allstate has no virtual cards right now and who knows when they may be back. I prefer the instant delivery of the ecards when I decide to book a cruise on a whim.
  10. I bought a 500 dollar egift card on November 9th but they have disappeared since then. It isn't just Carnival egift cards that are gone, but all egift cards they carried appear to be gone now. I don't know if they are revamping their page or what, but now your best bet is to check everyday. Someone will usually come out here and post when they are available again.
  11. If you have separate sail and sign accounts you won't have any problems sorting out expenses.
  12. Apparently the masks weren't too effective either. It's all an illusion of safety.
  13. That is exactly why I busted loose and got AARP as a second option. Allstate is rather weak when it comes to any type of ecards. Our mail delivery in North Idaho is a bit shaky and I don't want hundreds of dollars of cards coming through the mail. Allstate's whole egift card category has disappeared for me.
  14. They don't even bother with tablecloth on elegant night now, so renting a tux on board is highly outdated.
  15. Do they stop the basketball playing above the Cucina/ Jijis at night? We went to the lunchtime for the pasta and it was a nonstop earthquake above us from the basketball court on the deck above.
  16. I just got off Panorama on Saturday and they brought my lobster and prime rib together, no issues. I will say the hallways of the Panorama were nice and clean since they started charging for room service. The amount of food waste I saw on lido deck, however, was incredible.
  17. No problem. I recently had to change My daughter's cruise and we cancelled a cheers purchase that was made mostly with OBC but I had paid about 13 dollars with a gift card. I had forgotten that and one day a FEDEX envelope was sitting on my porch for the 13 dollars. Seems like a very inefficient way costwise for Carnival to send back 13 dollars via FEDEX but they do it. I would think an email with an egift card would save them a ton of money. They have done the egift card once or twice but it is rare.
  18. Per the menu on the Panorama the 5 dollar charge is there on the menu. I can tell everyone that the hallways are much cleaner now that there is a charge for room service. Way less trays of wasted food in the halls now, which is quite refreshing!
  19. You will be sent a new gift card and it will take a few days to get it back. For me it comes back FEDEX 2nd day air but it takes a few days for them to get it to FEDEX.
  20. Tracy Arm is a great excursion but has gone up in price a lot since I went in May.
  21. The truth is there is ZERO excuse for not allowing cheers on HMC. Claim is they can't keep track. Yeah right. They do fine job keeping track for all the per diem purchases. IF you somehow managed to go over the 15 limit they could just bill you at the regular purchase price for the additional drinks.
  22. Cheers is 5 dollars more per person per day on board(64.95 pp per day). The good news is you can now use that 600 dollars in advance to purchase cheers at the better preboarding price. When you add cheers to your cart and check out it will advise you of the ability to use your OBC.
