  1. Many threads here on the topic. First, the turnaround day will likely be treated as a day in any port...you will be able to come and go as you please. It is unlikely you will have to leave the ship to clear procedures. If you are booked for 14 days on one booking number, you will not get new room keys. Secondly, you will receive a thorough set of directions as to what, if anything you need to do on that day. Can't help you with the spa question. That seems to be a recent hangup...some things can be booked for your full cruise, some things can't. Didn't used to be that way...not sure what has changed.
  2. There are so many boat tour options. There are Hop on Hop off, tour boats with bars, party boats, and other choices as well. We were at DoubleTree Centraal on a Friday night, and right across from the hotel is a boat dock for party boats. The action on a Friday night was crazy!
  3. Differences are caused by port requirements more than anything else. There are many threads here on the topic, with many experiences in many ports.
  4. As the King crab seasons are fall into winter, wouldn't most cruisers miss fresh King crab anyway, even if they were catching it. So, it would be frozen no matter what?
  5. Oops, sorry. You shouldn't have any problems catching a 12:45 flight.
  6. Arriving at 12:45 on day of sailing? Not a wise choice...look at the weather and flight issues already this summer.
  7. What you can see is Winter-Spring 24-25. Schedules are released by seasons, not calendar years.
  8. HAL is still catching up post Covid. Expect Europe 2025 soon.
  9. It must be getting close, as this question is popping up every week. Should be this month or next.
  10. There is definitely a finite number.
  11. 9:30 will be the latest you can be on the ship...pretty much the same on all cruise lines, all ports. They need to turn the ship over for the next cruise.
  12. Perhaps you should realize you don't have all the right and only answers.
  13. Yes, when you understand that everyday out of water is money lost for a ship owner, whether freight or passenger. Most drydocks of cruise ships are planned down to the minute, frequently restricted to 2 weeks or less, and everything required is ordered months in advance to be there before the ship gets out of the water. The shipyard goes 24 hours a day to get things done. People here complain work is started before the ship drops off it's passengers, or is sometimes unfinished when the first pax get back on board. It is an extremely complicated affair.
  14. Probably 80 or 85% of the cruise ships going through the Canal use the old locks, as noted in the Sticky at the top of the board.
  15. I have to correct a couple of things. Yes, I was thinking the OP was referring to a port along the cruise, not the disembarking port. However, have you not been able to get off the ship before 8am at a disembarking port? You absolutely can, although not a lot before 8. If you are carrying your bags off, you can. If you are in a suite, you can.
  16. Probably. The bartenders may have to look up the recipes, but they usually can.
  17. We did a private excursion, dropping us at the airport Hilton. No, its not crazy to do a Princess tour, but I think, as you can customize a private tour, the better option would be a private tour. That will help you perhaps see something you haven't seen before. Rome in Limo is wonderful for this. Now taking a tour that drops you back at Civi, and THEN a taxi to the airport, does sound a little crazy to me.
  18. Book it for 8am. That way there shouldn't be any issue. Keep in mind, if you book the car as a private arrangement, that car belongs to you. They won't leave without you.
  19. Nothing compared to the Southwest problems. Due to the difference in the way the two airlines operate. Hub and spoke as opposed to whatever Southwest's system is. Not to mention the scheduling software.
