  1. I would stay at the Hilton in the airport, and go to Civi the next day.
  2. The board police? How about a relevant topic and material there in?
  3. Will show up in Navigator and in your account online. 24-48 hours in advance of sailing. There was a recent report on another thread that the questionnaire is no longer required.
  4. Boarding will start the same time it starts at other ports.
  5. We are not allowed to discuss travel agents or agencies on Cruise Critic. Already asked once on this thread, and that post was taken off.
  6. OK, assuming this is Alaska land tour portion...you can do land tour portion on your own. Build your own custom tour. I wouldn't decline June 4th because of no portside rooms. The side of the ship doesn't matter. IMO, they are offering a fair amount of compensation.
  7. Agree. I would consider some touring on our own, but as we don't know the details of where and what the tour is about, hard to answer any questions.
  8. Tell us more about the "whats and wheres".
  9. Yep, you are correct. There was a couple of posts elsewhere about an azipod problem on N. Statendam in around December, I think. As they can climb into the azipod, maybe the problem was fixed with in a few days.
  10. This description is of the Signature Beverage Package. The OP is asking about the Elite Beverage Package.
  11. @MisterBill99, best to tag @Native Floridian 26 to get their attention to answer the questions.
  12. Have not heard of such a restriction. I don't think the ships have to abide by local laws like that.
  13. The ship will do another dry dock before you are on it, so a lot of those answers to questions may be different before you board. If you are docked overnight, you can come and go as you please. If tendering, it can vary a little by port. Zaandam only has smoking at the Seaview Bar.
  14. Not exactly. Global Entry includes TSA Pre, which is used on every flight in the US.
  15. Should be here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/689-viking-ocean/
  16. Agree. Many posts here indicate HIA runs about $50 per day, including the dining credit and the shore excursion credit. Maybe 6 drinks a day...not even near 10 drinks to break even, not to mention 14.
  17. Please look down the board...there are literally dozens of threads on both topics.
  18. Global Entry, which includes TSA Pre, is worth it if you fly a couple times a year or more.
  19. A lot of changes are done to improve on efficient use of airplanes, crew, landing slots and gates. But we don't want to improve efficiency either.
  20. We don't know what level cabin you are looking at...hard to comment. Per person, or for the cabin? You don't have to book with HIA.
  21. Probably the most commonly asked question on this board. 9:30 is doable, if you can carry your own bags off and catch the first cab, having TSA Pre is helpful...Celebrity transfer is probably out.
  22. Several towns in the Norwegian fjords are small. Vik has about 2500 people...Skjolden (also on the Songefjord) about 200, and a good number of ships stop there, including us a number of years ago, along with another ship. Sitka has about 8000.
  23. From another thread just down the board: (Thanks @euro cruiser) Italiarail is a reseller, not a train company. The two national train lines in Italy are Trenitalia and Italotreno. Only Trenitalia serves Civitavecchia. IT - Trenitalia You may not be seeing all the trains because you are choosing a date too far in the future. Most of the trains to Civitavecchia are regionals and they don't load them into the system more than a few months in advance. To see what the schedule will look like when you are there, pick the same day of the week for the upcoming week. Small changes may happen, but you'll get the general idea. You should use only those two websites. The prices will be best about 4 months out when they first load the fares. Anybody else is a reseller, and while easier to use, will cost more.
  24. Have you looked around the board for recommendationsin that port? Is MSC actually docking, or just cruising? Have you asked on the MSC board? As discussed here frequently, Viator is a broker, not a provider. This can lead to some good pricing, but big problems if you have any issues. The standard recommendation is to go direct to recommended local vendors.
