  1. When is your cruise? The cabanas and villas will come up as excursions on the website eventually.
  2. The comment about looking on the Mexican Riviera board is spot on.
  3. The size of the ship is not the key factor in how much roughness you might feel. It's the design.
  4. True. But a Collector's Cruise is treated the same as a B2B on turnaround day in the US. Again, most ports outside the US the process is very simple.
  5. That's for turnarounds at US ports. At non US ports its far easier.
  6. Seas can be choppy ANY time. It's almost always choppy as you sail NW from Cabo back to California as you are sailing against the current and the wind (most of the time). You are on a ship on the sea, which moves.
  7. Have you looked at the Italy board? Tons of hotel and transportation ideas there. Rome is 75 minutes from the port. You most likely want to stay there, not at the port.
  8. You will treat turnaround day as just another port day, other than perhaps a couple of instructions on getting off or back on. ( We have seen there be a different gangway for those staying on board). There will be excursions. Your card will be work for the entire cruise, as will your account. Otherwise no issue, like there is in US ports.
  9. I would be contacting any of the shuttle services commonly mentioned here...SAS, QLS, GO Shuttle, Jiffy Jeff, etc. Essentially they would be providing a private transfer for your group.
  10. Seattle is offered by the Port, and HAL participates (not all cruise lines do...although I think that may have changed for the upcoming season). I believe it is free in Seattle. HAL also offers the program in Copenhagen.
  11. Generally, yes. The flight will have a landing slot. The plane will leave at whatever time gets the plane there to land in that slot, considering all factors like weather, other traffic, etc.
  12. There are lifeboats, and then there are lifeboats that can be used as tenders. Adventure of the Seas may not have any lifeboats that can be used as tenders.
  13. Typically 8-10 days out...occasionally sooner, may also be when you arrive at the port. When assigned, you typically will get an e mail. You will be able to see it on the HAL website, or in Navigator.
  14. It's important to understand the difference between Immigration (Passport Check in Europe) and Customs. Immigration is about your personal ability to enter a country. Countries can be very serious about Immigration. Customs is about the legality of property entering a country. European countries are not too serious about Customs.
  15. This is not making sense. If you are talking flying from Heathrow to NY, and this happened at Heathrow, then this was your exit Passport Check.
  16. If you are asking about Customs in European airports, it's the red/green system. That means you self declare. If you have something to declare, you go in the red line. If you don't, you go in the green line, which takes you straight out to the public. There can be random checks. Europe is not that big on Customs. The US seems to heading that way slowly.
  17. 26 Glaciers departs from a pier immediately next door to the ship.
  18. The ship will have to "zero". You will be informed as to exactly what needs to be done, but as the ship has cleared US Immigration and Customs when it departs from Vancouver, it may be very minor. The ship will give you written directions. You will be able to go on an excursion (strongly recommend the 26 Glaciers tour) if you wish, or just stay on board.
  19. You ALWAYS check in with the airline whose plane is actually flying the route.
  20. A quick Google search for June weather Miami, shows common temps in the upper 80s. I doubt you will feel cold, but everyone is different.
  21. You don't have to give extra to anyone, at any time. Totally depends on the situation. Don't feel obligated if it isn't deserved.
  22. Most excursions we have been on have been absolutely right on time getting back. So, no, I don't think you need to allow an hour to get back on board, but not a bad idea...get on board, change clothes, grab a drink, not be rushed. I think crowds will pickup as the ship sails, if it is around dinner time. But if you have a reservation, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Welcome to Cruise Critic!
  23. FCO is a bit of a slow airport, but it won't take 2 hours to clear Passport Check (the European name) and claiming your bags. Customs is the red/green system, literally takes seconds. Plan on close to an hour for the process.
  24. Bar Harbor has said they don't want cruise ships stopping there. There is a thread around here somewhere on the topic.
