  1. Islafjordur is in Iceland. You can dock in several ports in Iceland...including Islafjordur if your ship is on the small side.
  2. Did you ask on the thread for those currently on Westerdam? They are running longer cruises...I suspect a 7 day won't have it, but a 10 or 14 day cruise could.
  3. We couldn't dock there, and our ship is smaller than Prima. Its a fairly tight situation.
  4. Great excursion...recommended here frequently. The fewer clouds the better...you are almost always surrounded by glaciers. The boat approaches a couple slowly, so you can be outside. But, as you mention, there isn't a lot of room outside. Otherwise a window seat is most desirable. It was assigned seating for us, and we didn't get a window, but it was still very nice visibility.
  5. We don't know your temp sensitivities, but I almost never worn anything more than pants and a short sleeved shirt inside, on a 2 weeks Alaska cruise recently...even when it was in the 40s outside.
  6. Most of us don't know what the mark up it on cruise line stuff, and yes, it probably does vary between cruise lines. And yes, the mark up can be high. In this post Covid world, we have had hundreds of dollars of OBC to spend, have hundreds more on two future cruises, and we have spent it on many of the things you listed. We got what interested us, or we needed, not spending a lot time on cost/benefit research.
  7. I found if you put your curser in the gray area, and click repeatedly, it finally becomes active, and allows entry. This was discussed here a month or so ago...that is where I learned it, and figured it out.
  8. And, ladies and gentlemen, was our little bit of humor for today! 🤣
  9. Recent reports indicate the health assessment is no longer required.
  10. There will be, I promise you, someone complaining about customer service on every single ship.
  11. Yes, the vast majority of places will take credit cards. But it's always good to have a little cash on hand. In your case, pounds and euros.
  12. Asked here frequently. You can do 11am. Some will say earlier, but every once in awhile there seems to be Immigration and Customs glitches...so I am not completely comfortable with earlier.
  13. No way to know what will be available in November.
  14. Yes, shorts are fine, with the noted exception.
  15. Where do you stop before SF? Yes, the ship is cleared when you dock the first day. So you can walk off early and grab a cab, or even, if you wish, go stay at a hotel at the airport. There aren't any special procedures at SFO for the flight to Toronto...we took it last year. Flying Air Canada? It departs out of a domestic terminal...Terminal 2. Getting there by 10am is plenty of time.
  16. I don't have any experience with RSSC, but, compared to the mainstream cruise lines, I would expect their flight program to be better. I might be totally wrong...just my sense.
  17. Yep, and those that go on the tour meet the ship in Juneau.
  18. Verifly was NEVER required. We sailed 3 times in 2022...never used it.
  19. As mentioned here frequently, the later you get into the season, the greater chance of weather issues, and some things will be shutting down.
  20. Pretty sure your visit is strictly to drop pax off with a tour boat that will take people through the Arm to the glaciers.
  21. Everything I am reporting here is easily available to you via matrix.ita (do a Google search), and based on flying out on Nov 22, landing Nov 24. Retuning from Bali on Dec 8. Going to BKK, you have a number of one stop options...connecting un Dubai, Zurich, Vienna, Munich, with total travel times of 25 to 30 hours. I don't have experience with all the airlines involved, but most are very good. Ideally, I think I would try for Emirates through Dubai, but there are good options. Coming home is a lot more complicated. Coming back requires minimum 2 stops. Again, you have a choice of several airlines, But I think Emirates or Swiss are your best bets.
  22. Iceland is a little different than most countries, as their tourism industry, particularly in the small towns is a bit under developed. You can get, as we did, a wide range of guide experience.
