  1. Not aware of as specific time, but the excursions may show up any time. Specialty restaurants will likely be 3 or 4 moths ahead of sailing.
  2. I knew there are a couple of other tricks for slowing ripening, but couldn't explain them. But the some of the bananas I have eaten on board are extremely cold.
  3. Had bananas for most of a 18 day cruise this summer. As we had no replenishment stop, eventually they ran out of bananas. Normally they keep them very cold in order to make them last longer.
  4. That phraseology is commonly used to describe virtually all Alaska cruises. But they would have enough time on this cruise, unlike most Alaska cruises out of Seattle, to actually go up the eastern side of Vancouver Island.
  5. Correct. Common point in favor of sailing from Vancouver.
  6. Viator is a broker, not a tour provider. That means the prices can be good, but it can be difficult to reach anyone when you have an issue. They take your money and contract with a low bid local provider. A frequent comment around Cruise Critic is that you are better off dealing directly with a local vendor.
  7. I agree with @shipgeeks.Immigration would be the hangup, not Customs, but everyone clears that individually.
  8. Ah...much of the crew is also from the Philippines, includes the front desk people, from where the Neptune Lounge staff is drawn from.
  9. Am I missing something here? Where are you flying to and cruising out of? Can you do that with a DL only?
  10. If I did it, I would do it on my own, not through the cruise line.
  11. Yep, very subjective. And discussed here all the time.
  12. I got it as well...we are booked through a TA. Not sure why it wouldn't be available to you or me. In our case it would be 6 months before actual payment is due.
  13. Agree cash is of more value to them, given their small living quarters. And mentioning their names and their good work to their superiors vis the Navigator app or in written notes.
  14. Literally the thread immediately below yours as I write this: All those options work just fine for you. If you want to try to arrange an actual share ride with someone else on your cruise, that is done, per Cruise Critic rules, on your Roll Call, located here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/66-norwegian-cruise-line-roll-calls/ But I think one of the shuttle services, or an Uber, would be easiest.
  15. From Port Everglades? Or the airport? Very commonly discussed here are the main shuttle companies like SAS, QLS, GO Shuttle, Jiffy Jeff and a couple of others. Larry's Limos is also frequently mentioned for a little nicer experience. Also very commonly recommended is Uber/Lyft.
  16. Discussed daily on the Florida Departures board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/ Yes, you can make an 11:15 flight. Self disembarking is a good idea.
  17. Just items "penciled" in, that may, or may not reflect what is actually going to happen.
  18. Hmmm...interesting. Wonder why they are doing that route at that time. The money is better in Alaska at that time. The route the same as Princess runs in the winter time. Hawaii is not cheap, and summer is peak season. If want a somewhat cheaper time, go in September after Labor Day or into October.
  19. "Vacation protection amount"? A deposit, which may have been non-refundable? Or Insurance?
