  1. We were a party of 4 but there were lots of tables for 2 in the restaurants. They keep some tables back, so not all booked. Be prepared to wait if you aim for 8pm dining, which seems most popular. If you are happy to wait, they will give you a pager and you can have a drink in a bar or browse the shops. You can call each morning to reserve, or - better - ask the host/hostess at each restaurant to reserve one for following night. You might need to be persistent!
  2. If you have the Celebrity App on your phone you could try booking tables in the restaurants you would like to try. These reservations fill up quickly. (We are on Apex in Feb 2024 and many times already unavailable) We were on Edge 2 weeks ago and you could get tables without reservation up until about 18:45 as "walk ins" but after that there were queues and pagers were given out. We often asked the hostess to reserve a table for us for the following evening. We enjoyed sampling the various restaurants.
  3. We booked with a TA and managed to link accounts with our friends, We then booked tables for 4.
  4. Turndown still there, as is room service for continental breakfast just off Edge and enjoyed all the MDRs. Plenty options every night. Good to have waiters and assistants with time to talk and a wine waiter that remembers your preferences. buffet good for breakfast and lunch
  5. Just off Edge and we found the food in MDRs to be of high quality. Bread bowl and range of butters provided every night without asking. Good range of food dishes on offer and our waiters always managed to offer additional dishes not on the menu (not that we needed more food!). With each of the 4 MDRs having at least 3 main dishes, plus the additional 3 standard dishes and the 3 changing each night we had lots of choices.
  6. Ours had interior connecting door (10126 and 10128 C2 cabins)
  7. Though they will give you soda water on Classic package.
  8. Date of Cruise: 12 Aug 2023 Ship: Edge Cabin #: 10128 Deck #: 10 Cabin Category:c2 Cabin Location: Mid Bed Position: By window Balcony Type: IV Balcony/Window Size: Large Balcony/Window View/Obstruction: None Balcony Overhang?: No Magic Carpet Issues?: N/A Noise Issues?: No Wind Issues?: No Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: Connects to 10126 Advantages/Problems/Comments: Handy for elevators. No noise problems Would You Book It Again?: yes Photos or Photo Links:
  9. On Edge, some bars had Fevertree light or Canada Dry light tonics. Others had Royal (but not light). Seemed to vary from bar to bar.
  10. We embarked at Barcelona a week ago. Lady in front of us had a shrink wrap of 24 bottles of water/soda.
  11. Just back off Edge with a connecting cabin (and infinite veranda). No obvious noise difference between the cabin connecting with us and the one on the other side. We could occasionally hear some noise from both, but not enough to bother us. Opening electric blinds and window is noisy and you can hear it from other cabins.
  12. Just back from Edge in Med. Chic Night was hardly any different from any other night on board. The vast majority of passengers using MDRs were appropriately dressed but not many men with jackets, maybe because of the heat in Med. We came across one man in shorts and two with ball caps on Chic nights in MDR. Celebrity doesn't make a "thing" of Chic nights like it used to. It seems to be "same as any other night but dress up a bit"
  13. WhatsApp works but will not upload or download images. Text only.
  14. We are just home from Barcelona to Rome sailing. No need for any sweaters at night. Inside ship is always a comfortable temperature in shirt sleeves. Decks were OK in evenings too as they are partially sheltered from breeze. During the day, off the ship it was very hot everywhere.
  15. I'm guessing you mis-interpreted my 'smiley' πŸ˜‰
  16. Will they be checking how many "mains" you have at the buffet? πŸ™‚
  17. I don’t expect to get into my cabin early, or to access my luggage. I just expect to get on the ship to enjoy the things I have paid for. Barcelona cruise terminals are massive and can easily cope with large numbers. Check in should be straightforward; they have my photo, passport details, health info and credit card details already.
  18. Celebrity in the Med should be a lot calmer than Holyhead ferry across Irish Sea! Regarding arrival time, a taxi should take 1 - 1.5 hrs from Rome. What time will hotel ask you to check out? No point hanging around Rome hotel when all that free food and drink is waiting at the port πŸ™‚ I'm not sure about offers on speciality dining. Can you use OBC to book things before you board? I'm not sure (Princess let you P&O don't). Anyway you have plenty OBC to spend, enjoy it.
  19. Many do. Most passengers have travelled a long way to join the ship. Some will be heading directly from airport, while others may have to check out of hotels around 10am. Its not easy to hang around a city or airport with your luggage just to kill a few hours. The cruise terminals at Barcelona are vast and can cope. Nowadays we have done all the hard work for check in on line to suit the cruise line, so check in should be straighforward. They manage to offload us all at the same time at disembarkation πŸ™‚
  20. I agree. I wouldn't buy any drinks package but it sometimes comes along as an offer, with WiFi and tips.
  21. It would cost me $40/day + 20% to upgrade from Classic. I'm prepared to sign a few bits of paper! πŸ™‚
  22. Sofitel is IN Athens airport. Easy walk to terminal building. I think it would take longer to drive!
