  1. Thank you. Hopefully my parents will be moving on 24th June which is very exciting.
  2. Hello all, our lunch party for my mum went well, star of the show was little grandson of course! We actually had some lovely sunshine and our son’s partner made one of her amazing cakes!
  3. Makes me glad we self disembark nowadays!
  4. My friend is sailing on the 2nd July and has only just got an email telling her Geiranger is cancelled, although she was expecting it. New excursions are not up yet.
  5. Morning all, late shift today so I’ve picked up my prescription, put out the washing and now having a little internet browse. Sunny and breezy here. We've had a lot of heavy showers the last couple of days, hope it settles down soon as my holiday is soon!
  6. Just catching up, hope all are well. Sarah and Michelle I hope you feel better soon. Your Platinum Puddings looked brilliant. I enjoyed the Jubilee concert especially the Drone show and Paddington with the Queen! I loved her tapping the saucer in time to Queen. I thought Rod Stewart had the most dodgy vocals! I was also worried about Diana Ross and those steps! The pageant on Sunday was wonderfully bonkers and how sweet is Prince Louis ! When the Queen came out onto the balcony I felt a bit emotional, I wonder how many more times we’ll see her. John worked all four days so no celebrations for us! This weekend we’re hosting a lunch party for my Mum’s birthday so looking forward to that!
  7. Don’t know if that was aimed at me or not but I’m not planning to book my Malaga excursion til nearer the time - I just like to look and see what’s available!
  8. I’ve got a cruise booked for October 2023 and every now and again I have a look - two days ago Malaga’s excursions popped up! (That’s the one I want to book for) Now I’ve got excursions for every port except Lisbon, but some are coming up 2 or 3 at a time!
  9. Hello all, hope everyone is well. Four day weekend is a bit flat here as poor John is working all four days. I’m just enjoying the rest from work! Just been sitting in the garden, had some lovely sun but it’s clouding over a bit now. John had just got home and is in the shower. When he’s ready he’s going to drive me to drop a prescription off and pop a birthday card through a friend’s door! The excitement! I did watch the Trooping the Colour yesterday and thought the fly past was brilliant, made me feel quite emotional. The Queen seemed to enjoy it too.
  10. Happy anniversary to you both! Enjoy your time away 🥂🥂
  11. They were my favourites, fruit salad and sherbet fountains 😊😊
  12. we did those exact ports on Ventura in 2013! Now I want to go to Geiranger! 😀
  13. I agree with Zap about the roaming charges, I’m on O2 which is the same as before Brexit . I’ve recently been to Belgium and can confirm no charges! I was going to do the Soller train in Majorca but our cruise there got cancelled 😞
  14. Thanks for this review, I’ve just seen the same cruise for next year so I’m interested to read the rest of your blog.
  15. I had a couple of manicures/ pedicures on my first two cruises and although the results were good I wasn’t happy with experience, the first was so late we missed most of the Captain’s speech on the welcome onboard/ formal night. Might not upset some people but it was our first cruise - and it was Captain Camby 😉 Another time the lady doing it was really grumpy and hardly spoke! I asked her a few questions but she just gave yes or no answers so I gave up! Now I always get them done at home first. However on my first post Covid cruise on Britannia this April I booked a manicure the first morning as I just couldn’t fit it in at home plus I was trying to avoid going out. I must say though the lady was lovely and she did an excellent job. She even managed to repair one of my nails that had broken AND she didn’t try and sell me anything although she did say to ask for her if I wanted a pedicure and she’d fit me in!
  16. Just finished reading your last day Sarah, really pleased you enjoyed it. I really enjoyed reading it. It’s weird, John and I have never had the swaying feeling when we’ve disembarked, we’re obviously natural sailors- if only we could afford more! I do remember looking out the windows at home constantly and being really sad I couldn’t see the sea after our first cruise. After our Easter cruise which was only three nights I got up in the night and turned the wrong way to get to the bathroom! I managed not to hurt myself but I did bump into the wall 😆
  17. Absolutely. The one we did had 3 sea days before Madeira and it was particularly good for John as he was really able to relax before we got into the ports! He’d worked right up until the day before the cruise while I’d had 2 days off before.
  18. Yes we went on the funicular on our own. We saw the P&O trip come up afterwards, they didn’t have very long up there before they all went back down, leaving us with a more peaceful experience!
  19. Fantastic photos yet again @SarahHbenGlad you still managed to enjoy Geiranger. I haven’t heard many good reports about Hausgesund I must admit. Shame they seemed to have stopped going to Bergen.
  20. Unfortunately I don’t know that part of the country! But I see you have suggestions coming through.
  21. We couldn’t get into Skagen due to wind in 2019 on Princess and that was in July! The day before we’d struggled getting into Copenhagen, we had tugs pushing and pulling for two hours before we finally made it!
