  1. For us the thermal suite or as we still refer to as the Persian Garden is more for looking good instead of being practical or comfortable. the heated loungers don’t seem as comfortable as those on the S. Class. 15 minutes was enough as it started to get uncomfortable. They are also under a slanted window that allow a lot of sun to beat on you. They are also very close together and along with the slanted windows can be difficult to get on depending on your size and mobility. On the S class we could lay there for a long time but would leave after 30 minutes as posted if people were waiting. As another posted the rain showers are coed or community and is in tunnel that has different stations that you move along to. They aren’t the individual stalls like on the S or M class. The individual rooms are hype. What is the purpose of sitting in a room with a crystal stone or a salt block. In the Caribbean I can sit on my balcony and have a heated sauna and get plenty of salt air and watch the waves instead of looking at 4 walls the swinging chairs aren’t comfortable and don’t really swing much as they are tethered to the floor, but they look nice. I never seen anyone sitting in them The loungers in the solarium are more comfortable and don’t cost any extra. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  2. No HH on embarkation day, day of Captain Club party, or Officers Party. On a 7 day cruise you have HH on 4 nights. Could be wrong but that is what I have noticed and experienced. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸŒ…πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  3. As others have wrote, tell them to empty the cooler. You can then order beers at a bar and ask for them to to be unopened. You can also bring back water, glasses of wine and etc. Every time we go to our cabin we carry something to drink for later Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸŒ…πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  4. I have tried to use a waterpik many times and it would kick out after a few seconds. It is a GFI type outlet and can be reset by pushing the button. Tried using the outlet to charge my razor and that didn’t work either as the plug contains the transformer that is rather heavy and it falls out of the outlet that is in the ceiling. I guess it would work for a razor that had a different charge system. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸŒ…πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  5. The World Class bar and Sunset bar are expanded on the Reflection. The Persian Garden has more rooms on the Reflection. I think the gym is a little bigger but the lounge at the front on the top deck is smaller it doesn’t wrap around as much. There are more tables in Blu so they are closer together. it is our favorite S class. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸŒ…πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  6. You can order them in the dining areas but you will be charge the same as ordering any other drinks. If you don’t want to be charged you can take one in with you. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  7. Pros Many areas have been upgraded. It is a lovely ship Cons. the Higher ups allowed and approved Kelly to ruin the Sky Suites. They make look nice but aren’t practical. Eliminated the walk in closets with the interior lights. No shelves in the lavatory. Very poor lighting in the bathroom and cabin. Drawers are too shallow to store anything except some papers and very small items. The walls are no longer magnetic. Balcony furniture is terrible. Chair doesn’t fit under the in room desk. Very little electrical outlets. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  8. Do not take anything in your checked luggage that may be confiscated. If they see something that isn’t allowed or on the border line they will call you to the naughty room. From what I have read they make sure that you wait a long time getting the issue resolved and not at a convenient time. This also delays your luggage getting delivered. If I think it won’t pass thru I take it in my carry on. They will take it and you are on your way. There will be a table when you disembark that have the confiscated items with a person making sure it is yours. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  9. I think it is Lantern bugs. They create havoc to the fruit trees https://detroitnews-mi.newsmemory.com/?publink=03a0194a6_13485b0
  10. While we never had a problem with getting drinks in the casino as we weren’t concerned because as mentioned we had the premium drink pack if I didn’t have a pack I would be tipping the server. My SIL said she gave the BT $20 at the start of the cruise and then tipped every drink. She likes Limon and Coke. He always kept a bottle for her. At the end of the cruise the BT told her she went thru 3 bottles and he knew because she was the only one drinking it. She told us that she took it as if he was soliciting for more money. I told her that she wasn’t smart doing that as the BTs change and he may not have been the regular BT Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  11. I think Royal Suites and above get unlimited complimentary dining in all of the Specialty Restaurants. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  12. For many years we have always had a beverage package so we weren’t concerned about the HH but on our last few cruises they were serving complimentary drinks in the casino. Can’t say it was all day long but when we there playing we received them. We could get them at the bar and they didn’t ask for our card and the same when the servers came around. They said that they were complimentary. I have also seen promos in the casino having complimentary Woodford drinks. - My SIL went on a casino compted cruise and said she got free drinks in the casino I think it all depends on what the casino decides to offer. 13. We were on the Apex for 4 weeks. No one got in our face. As mentioned in the prior post the Edenist on Edge would try to get you to interact with them but it was voluntary. In the Eden dining room they only approached you if you held up the candle, in the lounge during their performances at night they would only approach you if you looked interested. They have also removed the worship rock (stone) that was in the center of that lounge and I guess changed that performance. Wouldn’t worry about anyone getting in your face except maybe those trying to sell beverage packages, and spa treatments on the first day. You can avoid those spa hawks by not taking the spa tour and don’t enter any raffles. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸŒ…πŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  14. Exactly. We were served some shrimp and other items and decided to keep them for later. Our Butler seen the items as he was restocking some of the drinks and discarded the stuff we were saving. He told us food items should not be stored in the cooler as it isn’t cold enough and he would supply us with fresh food if we wanted it. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸŒ…πŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  15. We were on the Apex for 4 weeks. We would visit the Eden Cafe for the Cookies and brownies and for lunch. One day the cookies were different. They either changed the chef or recipe. They were bad. They weren’t even as good as those in Cafe al Bacio. Everyone complained. The workers weren’t very happy either. A few days later they were back to their normal regular cookies. Incidents like that is why I hesitate on recommending something. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  16. Didn’t you notice that I wrote unless you take clothing that needs to be laundered? I am aware of that fact that people do other things before a cruise. My real purpose was to warn them that the clothing may be ruined. I don’t trust trust them with anything that I want to keep. I have used it a few times when we sailed 2 weeks or longer. The clothes were never the same. They always seemed to shrink. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€— Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  17. Thanks. I have found it is better to take as little as possible. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  18. If you are on a 7 day cruise there isn’t any real purpose to use the laundry. It is a 2 day turnaround. Unless you take clothing that needs to be laundered on the cruise you won’t be turning any in until the 2nd or 3rd day. You get it back on the 4th or 5th day. Why bother? From my experience I don’t use it for anything other than socks and underwear. I always request cold wash only. I have seen that it sometimes ruins the elastic in the sock and underwear. This is my experience and opinion, others may differ Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  19. I don’t shave in the shower because I wear glasses and use the wash bowl to rinse off the blade. After showing or whenever I apply a wash cloth that was rinsed in hot water to soften my facial hair. \\] You need to look at Rockwell, Henson, and Merkur razors, all great razors, plus there are many doubled edged blades available for 100 at $10. These are all a lot better than those multi blade shavers and a lot cheaper. And as I said the straight razor isn’t that hard to use and gives a great shave. Look at UTube videos. It has became for me the art and hobby of shaving instead of being a chore. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  20. I use that also. Sometimes I feel like a nut and other times I don’t. πŸ€—. It is the hobby of the fine art of shaving. I am thinking when traveling to use face lathering. Less to carry. Do you take a stand for your brush and razor? I am thinking that I should just take my safety razor and brush. Thanks for the input Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  21. I had been using a electric razor for years since I was a teen because a razor would cut off the zits causing me to bleed. It finally got to the point of the expense and cost of the blades and foils I that switched to a safety razor and really got into the art of shaving. Also being older I no longer have those zits. I use a bowl, brush and shaving soap. It is pleasant experience and recently became a hobby trying different brushes, blades, soaps and etc. Out of curiosity I tried a straight razor. I love it. It is the only way to shave. That is my question. Do they allow straight razors or consider them a weapon? Thanks Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  22. We enjoy AQ and the Persian Gardens. It depends on the price point over a veranda. The service is nice in Blu but it is also in the MDR and as others suggested you can use the savings towards a specialty restaurant. For 7 days we might us the Persian Gardens 3 times. Laying on the loungers is nice but I can’t do it every day The sign says limit to 30 minutes and if there are empty loungers we may stay longer but rarely more than 45 minutes. There have been times when we went and all the loungers were full. Left and got involved something else and skipped it that day. it is now just a added bonus if we are in AQ. We also get to use it on one port day as a benefit of the Captain Club status, excluding the Edge class, and sometimes we don’t use it. if it is true about making a reservation I think it is sometimes needed. There were a few times where all the loungers were full. We were told to come back in 30 minutes. Tried again and they were all full. This time I took a picture on my phone. We went back and the same people were still on the loungers. I showed the picture to the staff. She went in and reminded them about 30 minutes. No one moved. She said people have been waiting over 30 minutes. Deaf ears. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  23. On the ESPN app there is a game cast feature. It gives play by play along with a graphic display of the downs and ball movement. All you have to do is pick the game from the games being played at the time and choose the options. It is available for any sport and match. It does have a little delay Again I would advise trying it at home. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  24. We spent 4 weeks on the Apex. 2 in AQ and 2 in a SS. There isn’t anything hidden. It is all in the open. You just have to explore the ship and look at everything. We learned a long time ago not to chase after what others do because it mostly turned into a dud. After exploring you will find what areas you like the best. We spent a lot of time in Eden and on our Balcony. The Retreat Lounge and area was OK but for us nothing special. Eden Bar was like the World Class Bar but offered more. There were views of the wake and sometimes during the day the performers would be practicing. They had great chocolate cookies and brownies in the Eden Cafe. The cookies were different than those in Cafe al Bacio. There is a outside dining area for the Eden Cafe but for us it was too sunny and windy. Many were determined to enjoy it as they fought the elements blowing their food away. I guess that was their way of dieting. If they still have the art class with Micheal be sure to attend. It is a lot of fun and you end up with a nice piece of art that you actually did. They also served wine during class. We drew a seahorse and he made it very simple to do Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…l
  25. Aren’t they playing Clemson, USC and a few other rather competitive programs. If their schedule is so bad they need to join the Big 10. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
