  1. I think many passengers are hoodwinked into the Loyalty Status and keep sailing on X in suites to get to Zenith. They are willing to pay way too much for being in a suite to get the points. I agree with you and many others about the prices for suites being too high for a mass market line. I don’t need to sail in a suite and it is getting to where if I keep sailing with Celebrity it won’t be in one. I need about 900 points to get to Zenith. It won’t happen and am not chasing it. I am also looking at Seabourn and it looks very appealing for the value. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  2. Before the beverage packages I would carry a walking stick that is actually a flask. that was fill it up with liquor. It held close to a fifth Also had a pair of binoculars that were a flask. Carried that filled with liquor. Many would use rum runners With the bev pack It is worth doing. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  3. I was told it was on cruises that were longer than 8 or 9 nights. B2B don’t count. πŸ€— This one is in Eden on the Edge. I am sure it is available in Eden on every Edge class ship Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ… 2D2CAFAB-11FF-45EB-83BD-A99170F4A5A0.MOV
  4. We were on the Apex in March. It was either the last day or the day before they had a chocolate fountain in the buffet. It reminded me of Hersey Chocolate Syrup. Ther were also many other chocolate deserts. For what my opinion is worth everything looked better than it tasted and for me that includes most of the deserts and pastries on Celebrity The Chocolate Chip Cookies and Brownies in Eden Cafe are fantastic. The Flaming Apple or whatever it is called in Luminae is also Chocolate on Steroids. You may find a few places where the chocolate is awesome Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…πŸ˜£ 1376F8AB-EBFB-4465-BC96-8ECACED10ED9.MOV
  5. You will be on Celebrity. Water is delivered to you room thru a faucet. You don’t need bottled water to shower, flush the toilet and etc. πŸ€—πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Seriously. If you are in AQ or a Suite you get bottled water in your cabin. There is nothing bad about the water from the faucet. The ice cubes, coffee and etc is made with that water. If you really find the need for bottled water that for the most part is just that, bottled water that was from a tap you can bring a case on board. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  6. That is the problem today. I use to go to a gas station and also worked in one . They put gas in my tank, check my oil, check my air pressure and fill the tires, wash the windshield. Now I have to pump my own gas and lucky if there is a anything to wash the windshield and then pay extra to fill my tire if needed I worked in a supermarket. We would ring up the groceries, packers would pack your bags and push the cart to your car and help unload the bags, plus we had a bottle return where we counted the bottles and gave a refund. Now we have to ring up our own groceries, pack the bags, and push the cart to our car plus feed the bottles into a machine to get our deposit back. Service has gone down but prices go up. The explanation is if we didn’t eliminate the service the prices would be more. You use to be able to go to a ticket office to buy tickets. Now it is all on line and you have to pay a service fee. I can go on and on Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  7. That is why I suggested it as you said you like slushes. Just something to do at home. Hopefully you won’t be disappointed with the slushes on board like I am. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  8. Normally Sea days in the afternoon. About 11 or 12 to around 3 or 4. Lines can get long. There is usually only one BT and one blender. It depends on when you get there. It is easy to not see it. And many times there are no customers. As soon as someone stops the place gets noticed and a line will form. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  9. I buy Chi Chi Long Island Ice Tea in a Large bottle for $9.99. Pour 4 oz into a plastic freezable container and put into the freezer. Makes a great refreshing drink in hot weather. Drinking it chilled or on the rocks doesn’t taste the same as a real Long Ice. It has artificial stuff but makes a great slush. Our company always loves them. I found the slushes on board not really that great. They use a premixed artificial flavored Syrup, ice and some alcohol. It is the same for their frozen drinks at the pool bars. I want a real Mud Slide not some artificial flavored crap pour from a plastic bottle with alcohol added. same with the Daquries. If I don’t use the Chi Chi stuff I make my own slush. There are a lot of recipes on line and you use good natural ingredients for the flavor.
  10. Couldn’t edit my previous post. The amount was per cruise and not for both. Others may TIP more and some less. And I think that some like to claim to TIP very large amounts but talk is cheap. I could say that I TIP the butler $100/day, the cabin attendant $50/ day and the servers $50/day and the BT $10/drink as some may claim but not really do it. Don’t know if they do or don’t. Just do whatever you feel comfortable with. I know many feel that we won’t see them again. It doesn’t have anything to do with that. It is for the exceptional service and yes you will still get the same service because they don’t know if you will TIP them extra or not at the end of the cruise. I even Tipped the restroom attendant because he asked me my name on the first day and always addressed me by my name and said welcome to my office every night of the cruise before going into the theater. Gave me towel and opened the door. Service, he took his position very serious. He was very appreciative of the gratuity. Besides the extra gratuity a great comment on on the Attention to Detail Card sometimes means more than the extra gratuity. It helps them get promoted, gives them some extra benefits like time off, internet minutes and etc. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  11. It is better to give than to receive. We are on a cruise that cost us thousands in a suite. The extra $10, $20 or more to the people that serve us well won’t break us. But I am sure it will make a difference in their life and help their family It does add up. On our last cruise it was over $400 with the most going to the Butler that got a lot because of his great service. We also tipped the Retreat Hosts. We were doing some B2B and the extra gratuities was well worth it Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  12. We were doing a B2B in AQ with the same cabin for both. The move up to a SS was $1500 pp. on the last day of the first cruise I asked about doing a upgrade for the next cruise just out of curiosity. There were plenty of SS available. They said they would get back to me about the cost. On the evening of 2nd day of the next cruise they left a message on my phone. $1500 pp. Even if I was really interested I would have turned it down unless it was a really fantastic deal that I couldn’t refuse as 2 days were already gone. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  13. If you are doing a B2B and in the same cabin talk to your attendant. We were able to turn it in on the last day of the first cruise. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  14. Hopefully your husband was able to watch the bigger game of the year against Marshall. πŸ€— Every game is a big game there are no guaranteed wins. If there were why play the game? It looks like a long season for ND. I am a ND fan but it is not my number 1 GO GREEN! Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  15. From my experience If you buy promo chips they can’t be cashed in. You have to play them one time thru the slots or table games. If you win you can cash in the winnings. You don’t get any β€œreward Points” for what that is worth. It a good way to get more bang for your buck. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  16. Can’t depend on the Spa Cafe being open. The Mast Grill should be open and is good if you like burgers and dogs. Sushi may be open. Other than the Buffet their aren’t many o-en if not in a suite or CC. Bite the bullet and go to the buffet. not a fan of buffets but there are many options. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  17. Never sailed on Seabourn. We are looking into a Alaska cruise. How many shares do you need for the OBC? Thanks Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  18. I think it is sailing as a empty ship. You will be the only one if you booked it What are you thinking? Yes there will be others. I think you are on the wrong board. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  19. I think it is sailing as a empty ship. You will be the only one if you booked it What are you thinking? Yes there will be others. I also think you are on the wrong board. This is for Seabourn Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  20. For peace of mind you should change cabins. I haven’t experienced any cooling problems. If you are in a IV the AC turns off when the window is open. The cabin does get very warm and humid in the Caribbean when the window is open. To keep the cabin really cool turn the thermostat down to the lowest and keep the curtains closed. The room will be cold. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  21. No Not interested as the cruises are overpriced and booked to the max. There are many cabins with 3 to 4 passengers because families take their children on the Christmas break. Not complaining. Great to be able to cruise with family. I don’t need to cruise during that time and will leave it to others that need to. I have heard it can be a nice experience but many crew members told me to stay away during that time. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  22. I don’t care what they called them I still referred to them as the butler. I think Butlers like being referred to as Butler. It is a profession with a lot of pride and tradition. It would be the same as renaming the Captain to be the Ship Manager. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  23. The chin bar in the gym. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  24. We were on the Apex in Feb. We were in a SS. One of the servers in Luminae told us that it was the first time ever working on a cruise ship. I have found it to be more of wishful thinking that the best are on the newest ships and/or being in suites and AQ. The staff is filled by those that are available The best may being getting close to the end of their contract or don’t want to be on a new ship. Some prefer serving in the MDR instead of Blu or Luminae. One cruise we were in AQ. The cabin attendant was a rookie. It was also their first time on a cruise ship. We had to tell him everything that was included in the AQ cabin. You would have thought that they had a check list. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  25. I have never known Blu to be open for lunch. They are only open for breakfast and dinner. I have always seen the staff in the buffet for lunch. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
