  1. Was she the one in Lahaina yesterday? Saw a Quantum class sitting off shore. We are spending six weeks on Maui right now, just north of Lahaina.
  2. If it was all about the money...as one individual we both know seems to be so concerned with (and is not even on the WC)....then we would not cruise at all. We would just stay home and save those thousands of $$. 😉 I intend to deplete the nest egg...not leave it to others that did not earn it. 😄
  3. Much of the time we witnessed long...long lines around the opening time for MTD around 6:45. And in most cases, the no reservations line...... was actually shorter.
  4. LOL...that's true my friend! 😉 The ice this last time was to ice down my warm wine they delivered when I wanted a glass on the balcony for sail away. And of course hopefully waiting for that luggage to arrive.
  5. Bucky keeps it in his "mini" wallet at all times right next to his DL. 🙂 He learned that after too many times forgetting it .......when he needed it. 😉
  6. No silly...I hand it over to the bartender at the WJ bar. As I also hand them the dollar tip...they are most happy to fill it. 🙂 And of course we would never think to fix the "almost always broken" coffee machine in the lounge. 😄 🤭 I still have twice a day, being booked in a JS and above. But there has been the rare time when I could not find our cabin attendant when I wanted ice.
  7. I have taken mine up to the WJ bar to ask to have it filled before. And a buck tip like I would do for a "free" drink. 😉
  8. Unusual actually now. In the past it indeed was tough to get into MTD. Now with the new "fit you in at the whim of when 1st seating pax finish up" has become...IMHO...a total fail. Now it is tough to get into first seating. OP: If you still can't book online, simply go right to the dining room podium and ask to have MTD assigned to your cabin number. They should be able to do so.
  9. Dave, your VA card would work also. Your bro is the "never leave home without it" type. 😉
  10. You are most welcome! Enjoy your cruise with your family...always one of my most favorite itineraries! My favorite cabin for Alaska passage on a Radiance class (Radiance herself), corner aft cabin 9256 visiting Hubbard glacier. 🙂
  11. OP...I am guessing you heading to Alaska. Nice!! Should be plenty of warming hot chocolate all around the ship, and should be able to get it in the MDR. It's been awhile, but when we visited the glacier on sister ship Radiance, they offered the traditional hot pea soup while at the glacier....brrr...gets cold there, especially now, but so worth it. Enjoy! 🙂
  12. My post just two posts before yours, I wrote about getting 600-1200 military discounts from various cruises. This is on RCI and of course only on the cruises that they are offered. Though many of us agree, the military discount should be on all cruises...not just select cruises. Celebrity (sister company) offers them on all itineraries. Though Celebrity and Princess only offers the 100 discount or OBC...at least it is there. And also you are wrong about my not knowing which discounts I have. I simply take a look at my confirmation page, and see those discounts listed clearly and separately. And gee...when I see a 1200 military discount from RCI...maybe it means nothing to you, but it means something to me.
  13. We as well. Has been anywhere between 600 and 1200 off the price, along with whatever other discounts apply. I punch in military, senior and Fl resident.....then hope for the best.
  14. I booked the Connie online. Just now checked my paperwork...and yes indeed, I must have punched in military. Received 200 bucks off the cruise. 🙂 Thanks!
  15. Very rare we ever get one either, but Bucky always has his VA card with him at all times, just in case they ever ask. Just once they did, and was totally fine as proof.
  16. Very rarely are we able to score a military discount...but I input it each time I check pricing or do a booking. And yes...it's applicable to veterans as well as active. As it should be.
  17. Ahh..thanks...I ended up getting those mega theme park ships mixed up. 😉 It's Utopia that most believe will be home ported here in PC. 😄 And same as you...no desire at all to board either Utopia or Icon.
  18. My post was more of a generalization of "poop happens" when prices drop. AKA as commercialism. If you really think about market pricing...many instances will come to mind. Pax won't get money back on any other RCI cruises after final payment at 90 prior either during price drops...which happens quite often. But thanks for clearing that up. 😉
  19. Yes. The opposite end of Coco Cay, where the nature trail used to end (of which we used to enjoy a nice view over the high bluff there before RCI turned the whole island into a theme park). It's the last natural part of the island that they are now tearing up.
  20. I preferred the old Coco Cay, when we tendered there. Natural island feel, nice walk on the nature trail down to the other end (which is edited to just a tiny short walk now). They have "theme parked" out the island now. I don't go to theme parks in Orlando either...though they are only 30 miles away. I agree...can't seem to get on any Florida departure without having to go there...even Tampa. And...even on the world cruise...geez. Going there on first day and last day. Yeah, real exotic. 🫤
  21. Me as well. I am anal...and just don't feel settled until my luggage has arrived and I am neatly unpacked. 😉
  22. I pack mine in the checked luggage. Have been held up twice for the couple of magnets in my carry on bag...but only at security at the port during check in. Odd...usually airport security is much more intense.
