  1. Yes, you can no longer do yourself on the website, but a travel agent should be able to do courtesy holds.
  2. I recently asked my US travel agency about booking non U.S. passengers and was told that restriction is no longer in place and said he books passengers from all over the world without issues. Was lifted awhile ago.
  3. Your APP will show a QR code a few days before sailing, but I have not had any check in agents request to see it. If you have your medallion, go to green lane with your Identification, else go to blue lane to pick up your medallion l
  4. @metter, I am currently aboard Enchanted Princess and I asked about being able to add the Plus or Premier to any of the ‘Z’ fares on board or once at home. She confirmed that yes, the system currently prevents future cruises from adding Plus or Premier and she also confirmed shoreside said you are unable to purchase TILL you are on board. With the new double credit promo which requires you to purchase at least 2 days before sailing, passengers may be out of luck in getting in on this. She has a call into shoreside to see if they are going to make exceptions or say the offers are NOT combinable, but this has not been confirmed this is the final Princess position on this issue. Her information is you SHOULD be able to purchase Plus or Premier once on board, so you chat information is not correct according to what I was just told. @startedwithamouse, Princess closed the ability to add Plus or Premier with the ‘Z’ fares, so your bookings were before it was shut down, but you definitely cannot add now as the OP has posted.
  5. @TinyG, I had a booking with my brother as Passenger2. It would not let him order the Medallion till all the checkin info was completed. Having the Premier pkg means you should not be charged to have to Medallion mailed to you, your profile shows you are in CA? If you have all the info completed along with credit card info, call Princess to see why it is not allowing you to order the Medallions.
  6. What is your concern? Most of the on board promo sailings are within the next 90-100 days, so less likely the Plus or Premier PKG prices will increase. I have booked the Z fares on board and a few of my bookings had the option to add Plus or Premier greyed out with message to Call Princess or my TA to add in the cruise Personalizer. Are you thinking you would or should get Plus also at a discount? The answer is No. Previously these ‘discounted’ on board bookings also discounted the ‘plus’ package , but they were not supposed to. You will be able to purchase Plus @$60/day and Premier @$80/day when you board. If they have blocked your TA from adding to your booking, then just add when you get on board.
  7. Princess does not offer a cabin category like on Celebrity or NCL which if you book, you get access to the ‘Spa/Thermal suite’. On Princess you can buy a cruise pass to use the Thermal Suite. On Grand Class ships, if you are booked in a full suite, you get complimentary access to the Thermal suite. Some have reported on some Royal class ships(Discovery is a Royal class ship), suite passengers were given access to the ‘Enclave’ but on Princess website is specifically says suites will NOT get complimentary access to the Enclave. YMMV. Only the Royal class ships have a therapy/hydro pool, I am not familiar with the new Sun class offerings.
  8. You should be able to order your medallion, ONCE you have completed most of the check in and personal info and supplied Passport/ID info in the APP, do you have check marks showing you have completed these steps? You do not advance to Ruby till AFTER you have completed 3 cruises/credits. Most loyalty programs do not offer significant benefits till you have shown a little more loyalty than 2 cruises…as it sounds like your 5 day sailing will be your first sailing with Princess getting the double days/cruises promo, then sailing on your third credit British isle cruise in 2025?
  9. I thought Princess has removed you being able to place holds on the Princess.com site, but believe Travel agents can still do.
  10. The QR code usually appears in the APP about 2-3 days before sail date. Do not worry as you only need passport to prove your identity. If you do not have your medallion, and it was supposed to be mailed, they will issue you a cruise card to be exchanged for a medallion at guest services, or make you a new medallion at the pier.
  11. There has been an ‘on board’ booking promo since the company ONE took over as a contractor to handle future cruises around Jan 2023. They also now handle any Captain circle/loyalty issues and events. The on board ‘specials’ are usually for sailings within the next 90-100 days but they have offered some further out. The discount can be anywhere from 25-50% the Princess.com fare. You must book while on board. Sailings are limited, so not all sailings are offered.
  12. As this is a non smoking venue, many will prefer this venue to avoid the smoke.
  13. Food is subjective, as far as the ship, there should be quite a few YouTube videos of ship tours that are recent. Also depends on your cruising style and what type of ship activities you might enjoy.
  14. @edub, boarding will depend on when the ship gets to zero count, but check the APP and it will give you the window for ‘check in’ time. You are no longer assigned a specific ‘window’ and can arrive anytime during this timeframe. Check the previous sailings arrival time into Rome. If it is early like 6-7am, you can arrive around 10am to check in. Remember the port for Rome is not close to the city, so allow transfer time, if you will be staying in the city center pre cruise. At the Train station at the port there are bus shuttles you can get to your ship. Last time the fare was 3euro? Some transfer services from Rome can drive to your ship or they will drop you off at the port shuttle station, where you catch a free shuttle to your dock/ship for check in. Sounds like you have not boarded in Rome before, so I suggest you research info on the port and transportation.
  15. @RLM77, if you do not receive your medallion, depending on the port, they may or may not make you your replacement medallion before you board. If the port facility does not have the capability of making medallion, they will issue you a ‘cruise card’, then once boarded, you proceed to Guest services where they will make your replacement medallion. This has happened to me and it is not too bad if you board early and avoid the usual long lines at Guest services on day1. Do not worry about the ‘lost’ medallion. It only has your name, ship and sailing date, printed on the front. There is no other info ‘stored’ on the medallion, except an ID code that will be linked ‘on board’.
  16. Boarded Enchanted last Saturday, June 15. The slots area in Take 5 is NON smoking. Does not appear to be any space for a band/group to play. Did not notice loud ‘sounds’ coming from the slots, but also not many were utilizing the machines.
  17. This is a known ‘glitch’. To secure your date and time, most passengers are just booking and paying to lock in reservation and they get refunded once on board. If the Princess UK office is saying they will send refund earlier, great. 3 days is not that long. Check back after a week to see if you get the same response that they will send you a form for refund. Assume you booked direct and not with a TA, else have your TA deal with it.
  18. If you are a member of AARP, they have a portal where you can buy $100 and $500 gift cards for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity at a 10% discount. A $500 value gift card will cost you only $450. $100 gift card only $90. Many feel 10% is a decent savings and worth the trouble. Also note, Royal and Celebrity state it can take up to 10 business days to process your gift cards, so I suggest you submit to them or your travel agent about 2 weeks before due date.
  19. I was also told, the cards bought thru AARP, you must use the whole amount, no partial balance will remain on a card, so if you are not using the whole value of the card, any remaining amount will be forfeited/lost. My TA also said Royal and Celebrity are asking for ‘copies’ of the gift cards, so you can not just forward the gift card numbers and pins if applicable, take screenshot of each was the easiest for me. @N.Ice, After putting $250 deposit on my credit card, I was able to pay my remaining balance of $607.xx with 1 $500 card and 1 $100 card and the $6.xx on my credit card, so not sure if that answers your question regarding Govt taxes and fees.
  20. Some ships have a buffet style, some waiter service. It is NOT a full hot breakfast. Mostly like a continental with some deli meats and smoked salmon. Fruit plate, and danish also. You also have available complimentary specialty coffees and mimosas. Search and you can find the menu. On Eclipse, it was held in Tuscan grille.
  21. I believe the key is the ‘type’ of OBC. My understanding is most promotional OBC coming ‘from’ the agency itself, where they are providing the OBC outside of the Cruiseline and they need to ‘purchase’ it, will not show up till you board. When Princess is advertising extra OBC like for shore excursions in the past , this will show up immediately upon booking.
  22. Giving her medallion access to another cabin should not affect the display of ‘her’ charges. Even though you are using a shared card to reconcile all charges, there will still be a break out of ‘her’ individual charges so you will know exactly how much she needs to repay. You do not need to ask guest services to rebook her into the room she will move to. When she charges something it will go to her individual account to the cabin she was booked. Each passenger has a separate ‘folio’, so you will be able to see the total charges related to just her.
  23. O’Malleys serves food from 5:30-9 every day and usually 12-1:30 on sea days. Having limited space, passengers will go early to save seats and have a drink or two before food service is available. Some venues require a little pre planning if you want to partake and it sounds like you were caught off guard. I was on the Enchanted May4-18. I had the premier package and was able to dine at O’Malleys and Ocean Terrace practically everyday, sometimes twice a day, as I really enjoyed the chicken wings and onion rings at O’Malleys. My first week on the ship, the onion ring tower app consisted of frozen type reconstituted onion rings, late into the 2nd week, real onions were being served and the portion was reduced from the full tower to 6 great real onion rings. I feel many passengers towards the end of the cruise realize they need to use their casual dining credits thus cause the longer waits/lines. On my sailing, I never had a very long wait, if any, to dine at Gigi’s. Went during lunch, and dinner times.
  24. Yes, certain TA OBC will not be posted to your folio till day1 sometimes day2. One of my TA’s grants a loyalty OBC and it does not show up till day1 of the cruise. Same when they run a promo of giving extra OBC if you book during one of their ‘holiday’ sales, this OBC you have to wait till day1 to see and use.
  25. Review post #4 if you have insurance and might be filing a claim, but the short answer is, Yes, Princess will allow you to swap out a passenger on a booking as long as original passenger1 or 2 remains on the booking(you cannot change both passengers) I just did this for my upcoming 14 day sailing, 2 weeks before sail date. There was no fee from Princess to change the name for passenger2. Since I used a TA, I had to have my travel agent process/request the change. In my case, the new passenger2 wanted to use a FCD and he was able, because he had one dated before my booking date of the cruise. This caused an overpayment situation and Princess refunded the $100 overpayment to me. The cut off to add/swap is probably pretty close to sail date, Princess or your TA can verify, but I will guess about 2-5 days before sailing. if you are leaning on swapping, and are flying, do ASAP so the ‘new’ passenger can secure airfare before fares skyrocket closer to sailing. If no one replaces, so passenger is a ‘no show’, the Govt taxes and fees are returned/refunded.
