  1. After getting settled in, Patti gives us a tour of the hotel. Here is the little Fitness Center….. This is a good-sized Pool and Spa area……. They have a small Laundry Room….. To be continued…..
  2. I hope you enjoyed the little trip back in time. We’re now back to 2023. We had originally booked a B2B with the 4/23 sailing, but circumstances that had us needing to be back in New Jersey by 4/29, caused us to cancel that sailing. No worries though, we just lifted and shifted that Celebration booking to next January 14th which happens to be the Tribe Cruise, so we’ll get to enjoy it with quite a few Cruise Critic friends! Post cruise we will be spending five days in Orlando before heading home to New Jersey. Once again, we will be driving down to Florida. Being away from home for so long it just makes sense for us to have our own car down there. We can pack as much of our stuff as we want to, since we don’t have to worry about luggage weights and car rentals. Back in the day when our vacation time was limited, we used to drive straight through in one shot which used to take about sixteen hours. Since we have the time now, we will break it up into two days. As usual, our reviews start and end at home and cover everything in between. I know that some people like to get right into the cruise stuff and I understand that, but when doing these reviews we want to re-live the whole vacation, not just part of it. Our format will remain the same as our past reviews with a day by day account. As always, there will be many, many pictures with plenty of explanations and details. For those that are wondering, our go to camera is the Canon PowerShot XS740 HS, and our water, and back-up camera, is the Fuji FinePix XP60. So, let’s get this party started! We strive to make you feel that you are cruising right along with us, so grab yourself a DOD, and hop on board with us and join the fun! Pre-Cruise - (April 13th & 14th) - Heading South to Georgia! As always, we begin our travels around 9pm in the evening. This allows us to bypass the morning rush hours in Baltimore and Washington. Our son Ryan will be minding the house and our cats. He takes our picture as we head out the door….. After leaving the house we make a quick stop at Dunkin Donuts for a large coffee. Though I took a nap before leaving, the extra caffeine will definitely help. It’s a beautiful clear night for driving. I don’t mind the drive at all. There is hardly any traffic, so I set the cruise control to 79 mph and listen to tunes all night. Patti on the other hand, tolerates the drive as long as I stop at Cracker Barrel along the way. As usual, we stop at the Cracker Barrel in Santee, South Carolina just as they open at 7am….. After filling our bellies, and Patti getting a little shopping time, we are back on the road again. We make it to today’s final destination, Kingsland, Georgia around noon. We are going to be staying at the Country Inn & Suites. If this place looks familiar, it is our usual stop over point when heading south or cruising from Jacksonville….. We checked in at the Front Desk and were given Room # 107……. Before I’m allowed to step into the room, Patti goes in to take pictures….. To be continued…..
  3. Ahoy, Cruise Critic Family! My beautiful wife Patti and I have just returned after another cruise adventure. This time we sailed aboard the new, big, and beautiful Carnival Celebration, on a seven-day cruise to Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Mahogany Bay. How many of you got to sail on the original Celebration? I sailed on her when she was brand new in 1987. The last time I sailed on her was in 2005 with Patti and our boys. I’m feeling nostalgic today, so here are a few pictures from that cruise for old times sake. We’ve come a long way in the last eighteen years! To be continued…..
  4. We don't like the Vista Class spas because they don't have T-Pools. When we book Vista Class ships we always book Havana cabins. If you check out our Mardi Gras review, we checked out the thermal suites as soon as we boarded the ship. Patti took plenty of pictures.
  5. We just booked this cruise so we'll also be doing the 21 day B2B. Can't wait!!! 😀
  6. We just booked the 9/23 6 day New England / Canada cruise in front of this one to make a 21 day B2B. Can't wait!! 😀
  7. We loved the Thermal suite on the Splendor the best, followed by the Dream Class. Don't like the Thermal suites on the Excel class. It's like being in a cave, since there is no outside light. The T-Pool is tiny for the size of the ship, and to us the whole area looks cramped. For the above reasons we would not book a spa cabin or buy a spa pass on this class of ships. YMMV. 😎
  8. Thanks for sharing your review! It brought back some great memories of our time on her, and yes, a Havana cabin is the way to go on this class of ships!
  9. Hey Cindy! Looks like we'll be on the Vista with you 4/20! 😀
  10. It's been done that way for a long time, as long as the cruises are linked as a B2B.
  11. We enjoyed the new menu on the Celebration last week. I understand that they are going to change up the menu every three months or so. 😎
  12. We've been cruising on Carnival since 1985, and over the years we've seen a multitude of changes, some good, some not so good, and some bad. We've learned to evolve and adapt to these changes, as none of them have caused us to quit cruising on Carnival. Even the last three years has not been bad enough to cause us to not cruise on Carnival. Where would you go? All cruise lines are experiencing the same things. Go to the other lines cruise boards. Their all complaining about the same things. You need to evolve and adapt or choose another vacation mode. 😎
  13. To us the Vista Class is just a "Sunshined" version of the Dream Class. They added 50' to the stern to support the Havana area, got rid of the atrium to add more cabins to the upper decks, eliminated deck 3 of the theater to add more cabins. Added cabins to the aft on Deck 5, which are the Havana cabins. That being said we only sail on this class if we have a Havana cabin. The Havana area on the Vista Class is awesome. 😎
  14. We are still vacationing in Florida so the review won't get started until next week, but if you have any specific questions I'll be happy to help. 😎
  15. Not good in my opinion, but remember that food is subjective, so you might find it quite good. You won't know until you try it.
  16. I've seen them at Port Canaveral and Miami since January. 😎
  17. On the Celebration the bar that fits that description, as mentioned above, is the Tropicale Bar on Deck 6. It's on the deck plans. 😎
  18. Once a week at Chibang is enough for us. It's okay, but certainly not Jiji's, and not even going to mention the Mexican side. 😎
  19. It was great meeting you on the Celebration last week! We had a fantastic time. 😎
  20. We did the first part of the repositioning, New York to San Juan. Great cruise! 😎
  21. Just off the Celebration this morning. We had five different comedians with numerous PG & 18+ shows.
  22. I'm sorry that the OP is having this problem, but I have cancelled, changed, moved shore excursions countless times and gotten prompt refunds and adjustments. Who should I call? 😁
  23. Sure it does. On other ships besides the XL Class, if you have early set dining and you want to book Cucina at 6PM you can. Proper etiquette is to notify your wait staff in the MDR that you won't be there the next day.
