  1. You should have booked an "all included" fare. They average out to about $50-60 a day and include drinks, WIFI and tips. No need to complain about the cost of the package when you could have had it plus more for significantly less.
  2. I normally don't eat dinner in the Oceanview but our last cruise, my wife got Covid which meant I was left to roam alone. I ended up eating in the back corner of the Oceanview each night and I will say that dinner is the worst time of the day up there (as it would be expected). There was more crew eating dinner up there than passengers and the offerings seems to be a re-visit of lunch food.
  3. Where did you get this information.....it seems ridiculous.
  4. Two issues with Prime Cut for me. First, it's in the center Atrium and above the Martini Bar.....VERY LOUD at showtime!! Second, there was zero seasoning on my steak. There was no amount of salt and pepper that was gonna save it once it was dropped in front of me.
  5. Just my observation from our last X cruise in Oct/Nov. The nighttime buffet felt like a scaled down lunch menu with identical entrees and sides. Maybe one or two rotating stations but overall, it was just OK.
  6. There was plenty to do on the sea days, I was not complaining about that. I was just surprised to see the mass congregation of people at the cafe or events that I was not used to seeing. When almost every seat in the Observation lounge is full for trivia, it really changes the dynamic of the experience. Having been blessed with 50% occupied cruises for the last year +, it was shocking to see so many people (TA was 90% capacity). The first 10 days were great, then we got COVID!! The Covid team took good care of us so I have no real complaints.
  7. The 25 hour days of our last TA really helped us beat the jet lag we got flying from LA to London. On the first few days of the cruise, we found ourselves sleeping in way too long and my Miami, we were up bright and early.
  8. We did this TA last October and I was surprised how packed the interior spaces of the ship became. If you enjoy your days in Cafe Al Bacio, get there early because in 14 days, we only got a seat twice. Activities held in the forward lounge such as trivia had a completely full house, almost no seats in the entire space to be found. Most of the onboard activities had increased participation given that we were all at sea. One interesting thing I noted.....there are a lot of Brits on the cruise and they dress way better than the Americans on Chic night and every other night (not a complaint, I wish more Americans would step it up a notch), lots of tuxedos and evening gowns. Temps were good throughout the cruise ranging from high 60's to mid 70's and it got a bit warmer on the last two days as we approached the Bahamas and Florida. Overall, it was a great cruise, just a little more crowded than we have seen over the last year.
  9. Celebrity website lists the inclusions and amenities and YouTube should have some cabin tours.
  10. I would ask this before giving up completely. I have sailed recently n suites that cost less than $300 a day and some that were over $600+ per day. Cruise pricing is so varied that it is safe to assume suite pricing will be equally varied. If the price you expected to pay was within the realm of reason, how can they claim a mistake was made?
  11. Why would you need priority at a non tendered port? Just walk off the ship like the rest of the passengers.
  12. We are going to slide over to Windstar and Azamara for a while. Smaller ships seem to be my happier place as of late.
  13. They are updating menus for 2023, be patient.
  14. Does this mean I can buy wine in every port and bring it back on the ship every day?
  15. For that much money on RCCL, it should include drinks and tips at a minimum.
  16. We are just the opposite, we tend to book last minute deals within 60 days of sailings. I have never once felt that I overpaid or got price gouged on a cruise. Typically, we get some screaming deals last minute and with "Royal Up" bidding, we normally find ourselves in a much better cabin for a nominal fee.
  17. Wow, in the 15 or so cruises we have taken since the restart, we have only waited to board the ship once. That occasion, we breezed thru all check in but the ship wasn’t ready, we waited about 30 minutes. Normally I am dropping off carryons in my cabin within 20 minutes of arriving at the port.
  18. Cheapest inside they have with All Included and them do a Move Up bid later. That has been our method over the last 15 months.
  19. That sucks for sure. I normally just let my TA bill the original card on the due date and that means I don’t have to remember much. These days, we tend to book most of our cruises with 60 days of departure so I normally just pay on full when I book.
  20. The cruise lines are still getting tons of last minute cancellations, so bid away and you may get lucky!!
  21. We are all different but I normally tell my cabin steward to only give us a nightly service or one service on port days when we are gone. We don't make a huge mess and typically don't eat in the cabin. When I am in a suite, I am the same person that I was while sailing in an Oceanview cabin so the same rules apply. Those cabin steward work way too hard and I like to make their life a bit easier.
  22. I normally sail Celebrity but have started cashing in some free casino cruises on RCL. I love the Diamond drink vouchers I get on RCL and because of them, I have no need for a beverage package. That being said, for almost the same cost, you can sail Celebrity with All Included for about the same price. It surprised me that Celebrity, being the higher end cruise line, is actually cheaper. Enjoy you cruise on Silhouette, we did the TA in October on her and she is a great ship.
  23. Why do you need TWICE daily service.....seems a bit like overkill.
  24. Quick question for those in the know. I cashed in a free cruise and since I was not really a fan of the MDR, I purchased the UDP for the cruise. It allowed a reservation placeholder for day one but did not allow other reservations. Can I call and make nightly reservation or do I have to wait until we board the ship. Also, can I eat in two specialty restaurants in one night?? I see a $20 a day food credit for a la carte restaurants, can that be split between two venues?
