Thanks ging466 for your input on this thread. My wife and I will be joining you all on this trip. It will be our first cruise with Silversea and we're excited about the new Spirit. We took a similar cruise on the Windstar in 1993, from Madiera to Barbados, which we enjoyed very much. We like the mix of port and sea days.

John & Marlene from Ontario.

Welcome John & Marlene to our roll call. You are in for a treat taking SS for the first time. It is my second cruise on SS and I'm very excited.

Look forward to seeing you next October (seems like ages away:(, but it will go quickly:)).

Cheers

Hello everyone,

We have just booked this sailing, verandas (non-midship) are almost sold out, so are the vista suites. We love crossings, but this voyage with its ports in Morocco, the Canaries and the Caribbean was really the best one out there. Will be our first time on SS.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Welcome Tibor and Peter. This will be our second SS cruise and first transatlantic. Also seems that there is not much a selection left of midship veranda cabins.

Ging66 - we are definitely going on the Spirt and looking forward to meeting everyone.

As I write this, we are achored at Gustavia at St. Barthelemy.

What a great cruise, and what a great group of passengers. This is my first solo cruise since my wife passed away, and am having a ball - we have a wonderful group of cruise critic members aboard and they are all very first class, real and fun people. I could go on and on, but have to tell you all that if you ever get the chance to cruise with Marcy [Goldens4] and her husband Dick, Brits on Tour, Joe from Chicago, Ducttape, and the lovely sisters from New Jersey, Martha and Patty - jump at the chance.

I look forward to joining Jennifer and all of you on this cruise

We are booked in Suite # 412. We traveled in Sept w/Bob and Victoria and are thrilled they are joining us on this Cruise. They now feel like Family too us. We booked this cruise before our Sept cruise on the Shadow, the Cruise Specialist on the Shadow gave us a 5% discount on this cruise as well. I have been busy writing down the names of all of you who will be on this Cruise, looks like we could have quite a Coctail Party for CC members, Bob and I will buy of course.

Hi Mitch & Sheila -

I'll let Bob know that he has to split the bill with you. Th choice of cabins was quite limited when we booked, so we'll be in 927. Now we need recommendations for hotels in Lisbon. Possibly Wellseasoned can give us some after his stay there prior to the Maiden crossing.

Are there any ping pong players in this group? Bob's much better at the game than am I. We'd love to have the opportunity to have a real tournament.

Hi Emtbsam

I really like playing ping pong but don't have the opportunity to play very much. If Bob is really good I doubt I'd give him a run for his money but I'd very much like to play. On most of my other cruises (not SS), I've gone up to the ping pong table and it's been over run by children .

Hi to all on our roll call.

It's Xmas day in Sydney, a pleasant 26C (80F), a little overcast with possible rain showers...a long way from all the snow and bad weather in the northern hemisphere.

Are u all reading Debbie and Craig's blog about the Spirit? It sounds fabulous and we only have 10 months to go!:D:D:D

Hope u all have a happy & safe Xmas.

Cheers

Cheers

Merry Christmas to all. It's 32F here in southern Ontario but we're cozy inside and the turkey's in the oven. We've been following the Spirit on Debbie and Craig's fantastic blog and the ship sounds great--- can't wait for our time to come. Here's a link to track Spirit - http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shipposition.phtml - call sign C6XU6.

A happy and prosperous New Year to everyone.

Marlene and John

Is anyone staying overnight in Barbados at the end of the crossing?

(We are contemplating a one night stay at Sandy Lane before flying back to the States.)

Prince

If you are using "free" airfare from SS, you might incur an additional charge by deviating from their flights.

I tend to always book my own air arrangments---I guess I am a bit fussy about my flights. That is good to know for the future however--if I ever take the air with SS.

Does that mean everyone will be going home directly off the ship?
