Nice shot Dileep - looks like some beautiful weather you got for Moscow...that riverfront shot is lovely.

Welcome to the thread, SEJ...that city really puts on an awesome light show, doesn't it?! Great catch of it, especially without tripod.

Thank you so much!

Silly question but..because of the exposure length is that why there are no people in your memorial shot or were you just lucky and noone was around?

It was a BEAUTIFUL day today in coastal Virginia. Here is a picture taken at the Bethel Beach near Mathews VA:

Here is what is left of a crab on the beach:

There was an interesting sky too. Some of those cloud waves:

Nice shots. Were you there for Market days?

Judy and dileep, those are great captures. And, Cindy,

Not a silly question at all. You are correct, a long exposure will remove people from a photo such as that (As long as they move around), and that was part of my purpose. I also wanted a small f stop for maximum depth of field and a low ISO for maximum sharpness. It took a goodly number of shots to get one where all the elements worked.

Yes. It was our first time going to Market Days in Mathews. It was a great day for an outdoor festival after such a horribly hot and humid summer here. It reminds me why we love VA so much. I see you are in VA. Where? Near Mathews?

Lived there for 18 years, still have family there. Also lived in Yorktown(marlbank farms), now Richmond.

I take quite a few pictures, and though I don't own a really fancy camera, I have gotten some pretty good shots. These are some I took on a Caribbean cruise...

I love to take panorama shots. This one was taken with a Samsung S869 point and shoot, as were the other two shots I posted.

This is known by the locals as the Gingerbread House. The tin roof has endured several major hurricanes without damage.
