Can someone familar with Princess Cruise Line and Cruise Critic please tell me if Princess sponcers a meet & mingle and if so why isn't there a location on the roll call page to register.

Pleaase excuse me if this is dumb, but I just don't understand why Royal Caribbean , Celebrity etc have easy access to a meet & mingle registration and if it is there I can not find it. Lou

At one time Royal Caribbean and Celebrity advertised(paid) their Meet & Mingle on Cruise Critic.(they may still do this) They were the first ones to have a gathering for Cruise Critic members. Princess now does the same, but you have to find out about it on your individual 'roll call' for your cruise. Sometimes it is advertised in the shipboard Patter.

There isn't the same relationship between CC and Princess (or Carnival or Holland) as there is for RC/Celebrity. But that said, one person from your roll call can volunteer to contact through email the CD on your cruiseship. On one cruise I did this and the CD left me a message as to when and where the meet and greet would be. Someone on his staff showed up with champagne. The CD did put a listing in the Patters for a Cruise Critic meeting for "registered members."

Someone did this for my last cruise, but I didn't see the listing in the Patters until after I came back from working out in the gym -- when it was most likely over. So I just heard about it second hand.

On both this cruises, members of the roll calls came up with a couple of meetings on their own too.

We will be on the Crown Princess at the end of the month. Go to the Roll Call here on cruisecrtitic. Roll Call memebers set up the meet & greets. Go to your cruise line, then ship, then date of cruse.

On my Roll Call there are 46 couples signed up for one meet & greet! We are having one right after muster and the main one next day - at sea. We have invited officers to our meet & greet.

All so set up is a slot pull and a few other activities on board. 24 of us have set up a private tour together on Roatan.

But, we have been on some Roll Calls where no one shows up for the meet & greet.

While Princess does not sponsor a M&G, they do provide a place if requested. If invited and available, the Captain and other officers will attend.

Does the Princess sailing on 8/25/2012 from Southampton to NYC on the Caribbean Princess offer a meet and mingle? Please advise. Thank you.

Go to your Roll Call and ask if anyone has set anything up??? Quite an active Roll Call found here

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1520364

RCI & Celebrity are the only two lines that actually host the CC and actually pay for everything, if you get 25 people signed up. Not only drinks and goodies, but they have the photographer come and take a group photo, and officers that can, drop by. It was an agreement set up years ago.

The other cruiselines have started accommodating CC meet & greets, but the don't usually host them. Princess did the least of any of my cruises. They provided the corner of the bar with a server and put up a sign that it was a private function. HAL was about the same. NCL actually outdid RCI & Celebrity, providing the space, coffee, tea & punch, about 3 flavors of pound cake, cookies, servers for the bar, as well for the set up of the goodies. And we had about 10 officers show up. Then we all signed up with cabin numbers & names, and some were invited to dinner with the Captain, some were invited to a Bridge tour. I had 65 signed up for the Meet & Greet, but only about 58 actually showed.

Then we did a gift exchange (small gift from local area), a slot pull, a cabin crawl (with a poker draw), shared a couple of tours, and a specialty dinner at Cagney's Steakhouse to celebrate some birthdays. By far, the best CC group of any of our cruises.

But it is solely arranged by the folks on the Roll Call. Not official from the ship.

Sorry, have no idea. Ask on your roll call. Thiswas our 4th and last princess cruise. We areinout late 60's and felt we were the youngest ***** the ship. Amonh other things, a violyn, chello and piano every night in the atrium, trioleaving for their dinner at &:15 when we wanted to dance. listen to live music before our 8:15 dinner, getting tender ticket #78 at 10am and they were needed until 12:30, last tender back at 2pm - didn't bother to go, etc.

I was able to pull up our old thread form October 2011, and here is what we did

"Well, John and I just went thru all the 'slot pull' info on all the threads and decided that we will put in $15.00 on a 'Wheel of Fortune' machine and each person will get 3 pulls. We will split the money at the end evenly and all extras will be given to someone i.e. bartender who helped us or casino employee or ????....we will determine that when we are getting closer to the end of the pull. If the Wheel of Fortune machine is a $2.00 pull then we will figure something else out at that time.

I will be contacting the casino manager as soon as I can to figure out a time and machine where and when we can have this. In reading other stories some people have it on a sea day. Some have it after the cabin crawl. Some have it on the second sea day, just to spread the fun out.

If anyone has anything else to add I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks and can't wait to meet everyone on Saturday. Neta (Plumber22)"

We had a blast, ended up with 20 of us doing the slot pull, but as we ooohed and aaaaahed, a lot of folks in the casino came over to watch what was going on. We weren't winners, we but in $15 and ended up with $12, but it was great fun. Then the house bought us all a drink.

Have fun!

Welcome to Cruise Critic. You have posted on a thread that is four years old, and the title of it has nothing to do with the subject of your post. therefore, probably few to whom it would apply will see it. Also, perhaps you missed the sticky at the top of the page about tour shares, which are only arranged on your roll call.

Sea Princess from Sydney on 10th April :)

OK, that helps.

Post your question about the Meet & Mingle here. This is the forum that is dedicated to Princess cruises, and can help with general questions about the cruise line:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=197

Here is your Roll Call:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2063130

The Roll Call is where the folks on your specific sailing are conversing and getting to know each other.

Good luck, and Bon Voyage.
