Peace2U Posted June 21, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted June 21, 2011 Princess - Most favored - itineraries.Least - Waiting for tenders even with Elite priority Bummer. We usually get out as early as possible and have only waited a few minutes. When we return around noon, the line is impossibly long.
Happy ks Posted June 21, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2011 I'll do chronological order for the lines we've been on (so far) favorite/least favorite: Disney: The best shows at sea/food not great. American Hawaiian Independence: Best Hawaiian experience/they went bankrupt and are no longer in business and the ship is gone (where is it now?). Carnival: Photographers were good/absolutely nothing else, the only ship I couldn't wait to get off of. RCI: Lovely ships with great service/they stopped allowing wine to be brought aboard (2005). NCL: Specialty restaurants/all other restaurants. Celebrity: Overall satisfaction/no negatives. Cunard QM2: Gorgeous ship/same food and service as any other line. Princess: Can bring your own wine aboard/no real negatives come to mind.

Nebr.cruiser Posted June 22, 2011 #15 Share Posted June 22, 2011 Princess: itineraries, perks, closet space/cramped buffet, MUTS during the day Carnival: family fun, desserts, fun decor/loud decor NCL: spacious buffet, great shows, warm pool/too many specialty restaurants, small cabins RCI: lots of activities, interior promenade, ice show/buffet food, shows mediocre Celebrity: good food, nice bathrooms, great service/poor room storage, mediocre shows We've liked every cruise we've been on and nothing has been so bad we'd never sail that line again. Kaleidoscope Posted June 23, 2011 #16 Share Posted June 23, 2011 Celebrity: + Great bathrooms & balconies, Blu (& food in general in speciality restaurants), decor/art, staff, good live music and extensive selection of music in the cabin via the tv, watching the sea traffic in the relaxation room - cabin space (although storage ok for us), not great shows Cunard: + QM's a classy lady, afternoon tea, Todd English, elegant cabin fittings, great food in the cafe area in the evenings - Klingon shower curtains, service a bit too formal for my liking, rather more eager than Celebrity to get you off the ship (broadcasts on leaving began 2 days before the end of the cruise...) Not yet had a cruise I didn't love...

MrsPete Posted June 24, 2011 #22 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Actually, the newer RCI ships do have cabin fridges! No, not really. They have coolers. They're the same things you can buy to plug into your car. They do a decent job at keeping already-cold things cool, but they will not bring a room temperature item down to cold. Taxguy77 Posted June 24, 2011 #23 Share Posted June 24, 2011 NCL - +Older times with smaller ships and traditional dining. - Bigger ships, unorganized free-style. Two cruises with chaotic meals was enough. Azamara - +Small size, comfortable ride. -Dining room built for 250 pax, ship enlarged to 750. Celebrity - +Friendly and spacious, good food and service. -Hard beds from thin matresses. Holland American - +Comfortable beds in larger cabins than most lines. Bathrooms with counter space and showers large enough to turn around in. -Open seating hit or miss, bufet had same food and almost as much service!
