NOOOO!!!!! Where's the duck?????

I've been complaining that it was on lobster & prime rib night, and I just couldn't eat all three. I don't see it at all now.

So this is the 2nd time that my favorite item has been removed.

First, it was Beef Wellington that disappeared. Now the duck.

I'm sure I'm just going to STARVE when I sail! I'll probably only gain 5 pounds instead of 7! :p

Actually, it all looks pretty good to me. I pretty much know exactly what I'm going to order, and am going to try a couple of different items.

the duck, cornish game hen, and lobster bisque have disappeared. As well as the allways available shrimp cocktail.

But there are some interesting additions like alligator, frog legs, and sweet potato soup.

There is some form of regular lettuce salad on each of the daily menu's and there is a ceasar salad on the everyday menu.

I think the changes are okay. I will miss the duck though. I wish they had kept the duck and gotten rid of the seafood newburg, it has always been too fishy smelling and tasting for me....

Thanks for posting, what was your source? Are these in order do you know?

Thanks for posting. I believe the menus are in order...i.e., "D71" is Day 1 of a 7 day cruise, "D72" is Day 2 of a 7 day cruise, and "ED7" is obviously the everyday menu for a 7 day cruise. That would be my guess.

I like the new menus, my DW probably will miss the shrimp cocktail everynight, but, at least shrimp is on the menu twice, once as an app and the other as a main course. I was glad to see the escargots still on the menu...love those little snails!!

I was a bit concerned though cuz we cruise Dream in November and have reserved the Steakhouse for the 3rd night, but, all is good looking at the menu for that night....still not appealing to me....so, life is good, if it holds up. Thanks again for posting them. :D

Thanks for posting the menus. After reading how farm raised shrimp were raised, I stopped eating them. NO no, no cruelty to shrimp, just you really don't want to know what they eat....

I was feeling sad about the "comfort food" to me just another way to lower the bar, but then I see beef brisket in gravy with mashed taters, and then I am so ready to try it.

Again to agree with pretty much everyone , ribs on formal night-now lets figure out how that may have happened...Hmmm-raise your hands if you dress up on formal night. Oh...you don't like to dress up, you'd rather wear your cruising casual clothing-well since you want to dress casual, we will feed you casual...

Get the picture? This way I guess Carnival can appeal to both sides of their consumers.

And don't use BBQ ribs as another excuse not to dress up. Then they will really down grade the dining...

Lobster bisque and Shrimp cocktail are a loss for us! It seems that they have cut one course. Looks like they are combining soup, salad, appetizer and started into one course. Some things look good but taking off the standards could be a mistake and the customer comments will reflect if they like the new menu or not! We can always find something to eat but we get the shrimp and lobster bisque most nights and that will be missed!

I'm very excited about the new menu. There are some nights where I'll probably order from the every day menu, but that's what it is there for.

For those who are concerned about them combining the soup, salad, appetizer, and starter into one course, remember that you can order multiple items. If you want a soup, salad, and starter, then order all 3.

Thank goodness they didn't get rid of the black bean enchilada. I love that!

I really like that, too! And it came as a total surprise to me - I was thinking Mexican food? Really? But it was soooo good! :)

Does anyone else think that the "Didja" and "Comfort Food" titles are really corny? :D

Also, is it just me, or is this looking more and more like the kids' menu?

Fried shrimp... chicken tenders... mac & cheese???

Nothing wrong with kids' food. Those are actually some of my favorite dishes. However, it seems like the menu is becoming much more juvenile. Used to, they offered food that you would get at a fancy restaurant back home. Now, you can get most all of the dishes from Joe's Crab Shack. :D (Not hating on Joe's - I love Joe's... but like someone else said, I do not go to Joe's in formal wear!)

And also... I noticed they are offering Southern Fried Chicken.

Really???

I am from the south, and I will taste that and see if it's any good. ;) I have my doubts, but only because the grits and biscuits and gravy for the breakfast buffet are a huge disappointment for a southern girl.

The worst meal we ever had was on another cruise line, Turkey over pasta with green peas and now Carnival has it on the menu! LOL it's a joke with us because it looked like school cafeteria food and tasted like it. Maybe Carnival can do it better.!!! Yes there is much to choose from and after cruising with them for 20 yrs you just get used to certain things and miss others. I'm all for trying new things but prefer they be comparable. I think this menu misses the mark but soon there won't be a main dining room just a buffet and specialty restaurants.(my opinion) I'll still find plenty to eat but the quality is changing for sure.

I so want to try those enchiladas!!:)

I think the didja is pretty corny, doesn't bother me though. I think it's a trend in menu design, we have a casino here in AC (Borgata) that did their room service menu along those lines, with category headings like "I just want...." "I gotta have...." etc. More appropriate for a room service menu than a MDR menu, IMO, but I see what they were trying to do.
