We will be docking in Edinburgh at Newhaven & will need to tender in.   Are there shuttles from here?

Whilst I can't comment on Newhaven until we've had the first Oceania call of the season there (17 June) there is an excellent public bus service (https://www.lothianbuses.com/our-services/lothian-city-buses/) and from 21 June (perhaps a little earlier) the tram line extension will run from about 350m east of the tender pier.

Also, the Hop on Hop off Majestic route passes the pier, but I'd recommend buying the ticket that includes all three HoHo routes and switching to either the Green route (for a live guide in English) or the Red route (for a multi-lingual recorded guide) where they cross in town. I don't know for sure, and would like to know.  However, in the past, a shuttle has been reported to be available to some cruisers, free or paid, to a place that is close to a circle (Moyua?) and Metro stop that is about a 10 minute walk north up to the Guggenheim, in the newer part of the city but also close to the historic, older part.  If you're embarking/disembarking there, however, it may not run that day, or if it does, there may be a fee for its use.  Sorry I can't be more specific, but that's all I know.

Hi.  We were just in Bilbao.  There was a shuttle from the port (which is in Getxo, outside of Bilbao) to "Plaza del Museo, 2."  I took a ship's excursion, so didn't use the shuttle, but I did look up the address on Google in case I had time to use the shuttle to or from the ship after my excursion. Plaza del Museu is near Plaza Euskadi, and (a guess) maybe three blocks from the Guggenheim.   The shuttle started running a half hour after our arrival time, and the last shuttle was at 8 PM.  (We were there overnight).  There was a regulatory break (common in Spain) from  4 - 5 PM so be prepared to get back some other way if you want to return to the ship during that hour.  Bilbao has a decent tram system, and I believe after checking out the Guggenheim (if interested) you might be able to catch a tram to get to Casco Viego, the old part of the city.  There was a tourist rep with maps in the port terminal in Getxo. I missed the port talk (live and on TV later) but I imagine some info on the area was given during the talk for Bilbao.  It's a beautiful city.  I found the transporter bridge outside Bilbao fascinating, too. The excursion included it, though it is also possible to get there on the Metro to see and ride it on your own.

I have info on shuttles in Bilbao, Porto, Portimao, Gijon and perhaps Santander & Vilagarcia, Spain.  I'll try to post or update info on the list in the next day or two.

our Vista cruise.  Any shuttle updates?

We docked there last September on Marina. You have to take the train to Dublin, no shuttle. The train station is walking distance from the port. We got off at whether Pearse or Tara stop, I can't remember which. I think it was a 20 minute ride. We bought the tickets right at the station from a machine.

Does anyone know if there is a shuttle from the Port of Muara Brunei to Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital city? There isn't much around the port and most of the shops, local tours and restaurants are in Bandar Seri Begawan.

I'd like to know too.  There's a little bit of info on the "whatsinport" site, but like you said, it doesn't sound like there is much right there.

Would you please advise what is the best form of transportation train or taxi from the Rosyth cruise port to the city of Edinburgh. How far is the train station from the dock?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you in advance.

The Rosyth page on the CruiseForth website (https://www.cruiseforth.com/content/getting-around-rosyth/) probably give the best summary of the position.  Inverkeithing train station is about 10 minutes away.

Just back from a May 2023 10 day Europe Oceania trip.  Here are my updates concerning shuttles:

Oporto:  A shuttle will drop you off by the clock tower in Porto.  When I was there the managing of the shuttle was horrific.  Long lines waiting to get on it in the morning and no one from Oceania taking charge.  The bus didn’t arrive on time.  When wanting to leave the downtown area once again there were lines.   All the bus drivers go on break at the same time so the shuttle does not run continuously.  The agent standing there suggests you take a taxi back rather than wait until the break is finished.

Bilbao:  A shuttle drops you off at the Fine Arts Museum. The shuttle going out was efficient, but coming back was once again horrendous.  The lines were extremely long and again all the bus drivers go on break at the same time.  100+ people stood in 80 degree temps, without shade or water, on a concrete sidewalk for more than an hour waiting.

Soulac-Sur-Mer:  Very efficient shuttle is run by the town and drops you off by the Norte Dame church.  There were 2 local town greeters at the church all day with maps and advising the best route to take to visit this very adorable beach town.

Le Havre:  Shuttle drop off is at LeVolcan, but it is a very easy and well marked walk from the port to the town center.  You can do it in 20 minutes.  I cannot comment on the shuttle itself as I walked.

Tilbury:  The town runs an every 15 minutes shuttle from the ship to the train station where you can catch the C2C line into London.  I did not use the shuttle, but I saw it running and it looked very efficient.

Bruges:  You must shuttle from the ship to the exit of the port (5 minute ride).  After that you can buy a bus ticket from “cruise express” company into Bruges.  The ship also ran a free shuttle from the ship to the nearby Blankenberge train station.  I did not use this service so I cannot comment on it’s efficiency.

I'm jealous.  We were in LeVerdon Sur Mer for 3 hours due to the tides before we continued our trip on the river to Bordeaux.  (Did you sail the river, or stop in Le Verdon?)  For us there was no shuttle to Soulac, as I was hoping there would be.

Your experience in Oporto is interesting, as we were there in late April and the shuttle ran to a location at the waterfront rather than at the clock tower (Clerigos, which I had read was a frequently used shuttle drop location).  We also had the "regulatory break" (apparently required by Portugal law; and experienced in the Algarve as well as in Porto!)   But at least it was announced in advance so we could work around it!  We had no trouble getting on the shuttle coming or going - but maybe the day we were there (late April) and the fact that we were on Sirena (small, though sold out, so not exactly devoid of people!) made a difference.  And it was also Portugal's "Freedom Day" holiday, so I was happy to find the shuttle running that day!

In Bilbao we didn't have any lines either.  But our shuttle dropped us near the Guggenheim, and not near the Old Town part of Bilbao, so again it was a different location.  What was problematic in Bilbao was that we disembarked, and there weren't many taxis in the port (Leixoes/Matosinhos).  When we did get a taxi, the driver told us there are restrictions on which taxis could enter the port.  If we ever disembark in Bilbao again, I'll look for some other means of getting where I'm going (airport, Porto, or whatever).  But I loved Bilbao....

Oh well.  If I haven't learned anything else from cruising, I've learned that you need to be flexible!  Nothing is written in stone, especially when other entities are involved.  I always take money for a taxi just in case I need it.

There is a "sticky" at the top of this O page that has a list of shuttles available in the different ports....
