I notice few smokers than years before. I would never ask someone not to smoke in the smoking area
Treasure Hunter Posted September 20, 2023 #1453 Share Posted September 20, 2023 I didn't ask her not to smoke. She volunteered. I understand the rules. Often there are smokers hanging around who do not play. But as I said it seemed less than years before. We had a blast as many people were jolly and having a great time. I man next to me was playing 88 cents and hit for $10,000. We were all screaming. He nearly fell off his chair.

Treasure Hunter Posted September 21, 2023 #1456 Share Posted September 21, 2023 Yes she sat down next to me to play. She was just being polite and didn’t stay long. I think she had the drink package. The problem was that there just weren’t enough slots in either section.

Seems like common courtesy to me. Y'all are educating me on the casino. I've never been a gambler, but it sounds like the casino is a pleasant place to spend an hour or so in the evening. And get to know others who drink and smoke! Edited September 21, 2023 by jsn55

Be aware you cannot smoke at the casino bar or at only table games. The smoking are of slots is full of people gambling and not there to just hang out and socialize. If you sit at a machine and are not playing someone who wants to use the machine will probably kick you out of that seat

While smoking is still the leading preventable cause of mortality in Europe, rates of tobacco use are declining with some countries seeing much more progress than others. The rate of smoking varies a lot from 6.4 % in Sweden (about half of the US rate) to 28.7 % in Bulgaria. When I smoked and finally got married I never smoked around my wife, in our house or vehicles. I didn't hide the fact I smoked but I tried to keep my exposer to others at a minimal. I know I still had the smoker stench. I wasn't a chain or heavy smoker. A pack would last me two days. When I quit it was for me not others. JRice Posted September 29, 2023 #1469 Share Posted September 29, 2023 *** PEACE TREATY NEEDED *** The smoking debate will continue as long as there is one smoker on the earth. Cruises should be all things to all people. Part of the fun for me is watching other people having fun and enjoying themselves. My attitude is "I be me ... they be them" Cruise ships with 3000 passengers require all of us to be tolerant of most behavior and to be non-sanctimonious. Your pleasures may be my sins and vice versa. Therefore, let's stop picking on the smokers. They should not be prohibited from smoking in an indoor enclosed lounge or in a few outdoor locations. You know, I know and they know smoking is not healthy - I am sure if it were easy to quit they would do so tomorrow. If you find it necessary to pick on the smokers, then why not pick on other behaviors? Should obese passengers be prohibited from eating more than the recommended daily caloric intake? Should those with alcohol dependency be prohibited from purchasing the booze package or buy at a bar? Should those with gambling addictions or financial issues be prohibited from entering the casino? Sunshine can cause skin cancer, should the lounge chairs be removed? Hot tubs can spread disease, should they be closed too? The answer to all these questions is an unequivocal 'NO". Let each adult make their own decisions based upon the risks they want to endure and without interference. If you want to "ban" something -- how about banning some of these rude or inconsiderate behaviors? - Passengers who think it is ok to pass gas in public areas - Passengers who cut into elevator, buffet or tender lines - Passengers who eat in a buffet line - Passengers who hog deck chairs - Passengers who disregard formal night dress codes. *** Let he who is without sin cast the first stone *** 5 3

You forgot one. Smokers who bathe in cologne or perfume to try and cover up the cigarette, pipe, cigar smell on themselves. Speaking from past experience. Of course all your bans are also done by some smokers. Yes and some non smokers bathe in cologne and perfume. I blame Princess or whoever the cruise line is that allows inside smoking. Not the smoker. All cruise lines need to keep the smoking out of all the indoor areas of the ship. Works on Celebrity ships. The outside designated smoking areas are great. You can't beat the view and service for outside smoking areas. Edited September 29, 2023 by doghog

The issue here is a smoking policy that exposes non-smokers to secondhand smoke. If Princess feels that indoor smoking areas are needed, they should be dedicated spaces not shared spaces like the casino, especially since it is open to other public spaces.

DONNAKG Posted September 30, 2023 #1475 Share Posted September 30, 2023 We enjoy a cigar in the evening, one of the reasons we choose Princess, Churchill's speakeasy cigar lounges are great. We do not smoke in the Casino.
