I guess I second PaulaJK for 2 reasons. First, I believe it is published that the spa tubs and pool closes at 7:00pm. And maybe more importantly, while I dine at the patio grill, I don,t want to look at guests in swimming attire-regardless of their physical attributes.

That WASN'T very nice for the pool deck crew to throw the passengers out of the hot tub as they were finally able to relax in them. That is one of our favorite places to relax after we have been sightseeing all day. We are paying big bucks for this cruise- we should be able to enjoy the hot tubs!!!

KATHY

Actually the facilities guys had given them an extra hour as all the hot tubs close on the Sojourn at 7:00pm. I had asked the Hotel Manager at one point why would they close them so early and he gave me two reasons; 1. there is no one to supervise them and secondly if you were eating dinner in the Patio Grill did you want to see someone in a Speedo?

Agreed, especially while eating and seeing some hairy back individual or cat woman with her cellulite going for a dip.:D:eek:

ST,

Your weather reports are making me shiver. I'm about to run up to the attic to haul out my winter gear!

Was the Rock The Boat party able to be held outdoors?

I realize that you are working quite a bit but did the other pax seem to enjoy the entertainment offerings [important to us] as well as dinner in the MDR?

Paula

PaulaJk, there is a reason why I have named this ship the "Polar Express".

Because it's too cold Rock the Boat has always been held indoors in The Club since I came onboard April 13th.

Most I would say that they really enjoyed the MDR and the food in the MDR. Only heard some grumblings that service was slow at peak times in MDR but overall only glowing reviews. The Entertainment has been hit and miss as you know what I have already reported. The biggest complaint on this cruise and last has been the complete outages for the internet. People are fuming mad, so much so that Corporate have refunded internet packages and given back credits on this cruise.

Day 42: Enroute to Gothenburg, Sweden

Good very early morning here on the Sojourn as we are making our way towards Gothenburg, Sweden for 8:00am in some 2.5 hours time. It was so pronounced that it actually woke me up out of bed this morning.

The weather is not lookig that promising with overcast skies and a current temperature of 11C or 52F....bbbbbrrrrr again!

Day 42: Welcome to Gothenburg, Sweden 8:00am-6:00pm

We have arrived as scheduled at 8:00am into Gothernburg, Sweden on this cold and damp and drizzly day with a current temperature of 9C or 48C under overcast skies.

Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden by population and the fifth largest in the Nordic countries. Situated on the west coast of Sweden, the city proper has a population of 520 374 with 549 839 in the urban area and the total of 938 580 inhabitants in the metropolitain area.

The City of Gothenburg was founded in 1621 by King Gustavus Adolphus. It lies by the sea at the mouth of Gota Alv-the river running through the city and is the largest seaport in the Nordic countries.

More to come later today from the Sojourn here in the cold and damp city of Gothenburg....stay tuned!

Departure from Gothenburg, Sweden enroute for Copenhagen, Denmark;

We are just letting loose our mooring lines and are about to set sail for Copenhagen, Denmark. The total distance to reach Copenhagen is 165 nautical miles and we will need to keep an average speed of 12 knots.

The current weather is 9C or 48F and we expect high winds again tonight when we reach open waters in excess of 35 m.p.h. or 8 on the beaufort scale.

The Patio Grill is open tonight apparently so I may have my last "AL FRESCO" friggid Polar Express Dinner out there tonight!

More to come later today from the Sojourn enroute for Copenhagen, Denmark.

So did R.S.V.P. as well???

It is "Surf and Turf" tonight in the Patio Grill...;);)

Lots of things disappear and it dismays me that a link on another CC board which leads to what can only be described as a pornographic image has never been deleted!

T & C's seem to apply to suit Mr M!

Now that ST is leaving us I think I will follow suit - fed up with our reasonable posts being deleted, with no explanation whatsoever, while this link above remains.

Safe homeward bound ST - you are a little ray of sunshine in our CC lives!

Will be lurking around watching for your next adventure!

Enjoy the little critters tonight! LOL! ;)

Perhaps the images of scantily clad gay men were deemed too brash and sudden for the largely elderly and genteel contibutors to CC Forums. I certainly found them to be a tad garish ( and I speak as someone who was happy to frequent the (famous?) Roman Baths in NYC in the early '70s), but then again I am getting on a bit now.

However as it is evident that SB is chartering out one of the 'girls' for a Gay Cruise, it does seem a bit coy to delete the link.

Perhaps it contravenes rules about advertising.

Fairbourne - I share your dismay. I can only conclude that the many reasonable posts were deleted because they were too difficult to understand by some or were indeed misunderstood. Particularly if they contained an element of humour. It would be sad to think that sectional interests ( if you get my drift) are at work on CC with a view to driving away posters who's faces or words don't fit.

Whatever the explanation, the net result is the same for me. I quit also.

May I say it has been a pleasure to exchange bon mots with you and it would be a delight to sail on the same ship as you and your DH sometime. You sound great fun. And that is what CC should be. IMHO it no longer is - Tempus Mutantur.:(

And have a safe trip home ST. Beware the cats and fairies:eek:

Sir, it has been my pleasure also to make your acquaintance and I have thoroughly enjoyed our "Bon mots", so thank you ST for without you we would not have had so much fun! :D. Tempus mutantur Mr M et nos mutator inillis.

Regards to Mrs MarianH for behind every Great Man is a Great Woman (or a great woman rolling her eyes! LOL!) ;)

ST

I see you have a number of turnaround days. I saw an earlier post on CC about those days.

Someone asked what he did on those days? With people coming and going and the crew busy was there much to do?

He said that he barked.

????? What do you mean that you barked?

Well, since I was not disembarking or embarking, I guess that I was barking.

I have a question, do you post to a word processor and paste. Either way your writing is wonderful.

Well ST - thank you for sharing all your "moments" .... You will be missed :-( and have you seen how many number of views you've had! Incredible! Do you want to tell us your new embarkation date and port? Just so I can put it in the diary :p! Gosh you'll be on board for 3 months, is that right?

I bet you'll be feeling quite emotional tomorrow on leaving and taking the slippers off for the last time this trip! I know how I felt leaving the Quest and that was only after two weeks! ;)

Safe travels and keep in touch Mr ST.:D
