We picked up 3 fishermen (one was a woman) who had been stranded at sea for a week. Their motor had quit, and needless to say, they were very dehydrated. Thank goodness it had rained that week, or they might have died.

Indian Navy submarine escorted us (Azamara Quest, Dec 2010) from Mumbai (due to pirates)...after underway in the Indian Ocean, i saw only its periscope...!

Other? 3 blue whales off the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

Cubans heading to US.

Oasis rendered assistance, gave them food and water, called US Coast Guard, and we were granted permission to proceed.

There are more pics and info in the Oasis review linked below.

I remember when a Cunard ship stopped to retrieve a headless corpse from the water. There was long thread on CC about it.

Thousands and thousands of gannets diving off Bass Rock in the Firth of Forth.

Dolphins, porpoises and a whale all passing through the Straits of Gibraltar together.

For some reason, hundreds of common gulls flying round the ship late at night, or settling on the water, in the English Channel.

Vast fields of gas rigs and wind farms, Irish Sea.
