Monarch of the Seas is now just.... Monarch (Pics)

Recommended Posts

Not sure but I was thinking the Schooner bar.

Could be Schooner, but that screen is where the piano used to be. Either they took some space away from Schooner in the aft end, or the photo is reversed and right side is the forward end of Schooner.

I know, very confusing. I just looked at the pictures that pulmanteur had posted on their site and hey still show the schooner bar pretty much intact he way it was. I went through all the venues and could not find anything resembling that picture. Also the deck picture with the sleeper loungers looked out of place. I wonder if there are a few pictures that are not actually of the Monarch slipped in there.

god, they didn't even bother to change any of the names ... Claude's, Vincent's, Windjammer, Jade. Sorrento's, Viking Crown, Bolero's ... really ?

talk about a quick switch over. kinda tacky.

You could be right about some non-Monarch photos. I can't place that deck picture at all.

Almost as tacky as assuming your right with no info to back it?;)

i love the new outside colors of the monarch and sovereign - very pretty..

both ships are looking good!! :)

and who cares if they didn't change the names of anything!! i'm sure people sailing on board won't care - as long as the service is good and the seas calm, it's all good!! :)

The deck picture is of what they are calling the "Solarium". It's essentially the top deck of the ship above Sorrentos and Jade -- by the forward mast.

Thank-you, very interesting. I'm trying to figure out what that venue is with the large flat screen TV on the wall.

That one's got me puzzled too. I can't place that configuration anywhere on Sovereign Class.

Another good question. Unless they removed the entire space where Jade was, which they didn't, Monarch did not have that much space up there.

It looks like it could be the old casino to me.

My wife mentioned the casino last night, but that would mean they made the gaming area smaller. I've no idea if that is something Pulmantur might do.

Casino gets my vote too after comparing Marc Walker's picture from dry dock to the new one! Looks very nice as does the rest of Monarch :) To quote Marc from his FB page, "Bye bye casino royale."

I never thought they would have done that to the casino but yep, that is it alright.

Europeans spend much more time watching football in the bar than in a casino :D - so the marketing makes sense. I really like the soccer theme. Looks like Pele, Zidane and Maradona national team kit on the wall.

I was talking about you being so sure about the paint. Do you need any more information?

Right ... kinda like you just did. Now why don't you click this ... and tell me if I'm wrong.

There is ABSOLUTELY no way Monarch could have been painted fully like that so quickly. NO WAY. NO WAY. NOPE. NYET!

[quote name='mjsshipboy']Here are some pictures from the shipyard in the Bahamas, where Monarch of the Seas is being transformed into Pullmantur's "Monarch".

One of the pictures shows her Crown and Anchors, discarded in a garbage pile.

That is so sad... our first cruise was on the Monarch of the Seas in 1997... it was very special... We are booked again this year on Oasis of the Seas for our second cruise on Oasis... it is an extraordinary ship!!
