Riviera PH in-Suite Specialty Restaurant Dining

DW and I were discussing perhaps ordering in-suite SR course by course dining during our upcoming Riviera cruise. Is it the butler assigned to our PH that does the serving or a server from the SR? Do they just hang around and monitor your progress, or do you somehow signal you're ready for the next course or other need...? This sounds like a way for a quiet/romantic dinner at "home" after a long grueling day of exotic excursions, food, trivia, and perhaps indulgence of an adult beverage...

Meals will be served by your butler. The butlers know exactly how to time your meal. If after the first time you want your food brought more slowly or more rapidly just tell him and he will adjust the timing to your wishes. It' a wonderful experience enjoy it.

The butlers are pretty good with timing, and having specialty restaurant meals delivered is one of the best perks. You can always ask them to bring dessert in an hour or at a specific time (we understand that there are others asking for the same service and give him a range of times). You will be spoiled!!

We do this often and always on the last night aboard while packing.

We have used the phone/pager system as a signal to the butler to bring the next course, always understanding that he may have some delays due to preparation, other duties, etc. but this is meant to be a leisurely meal for us. In fact, the next course usually arrives within 10-15 minutes of our call so we know how to time it.

Enjoy - it's decadent and a great way to utilize wine you may have brought on board without paying a corkage fee!

THe penthouse...cabin that is ia about 215 sq ft... that includes the bathroom.

That makes for a rather small room..... THe PH on Marina which are none to big are about 360 sq almost 50% larger.

...Make sure it and your desires all fit in the manner you envision.

PHs on Riviera and Marina are 420 sq ft.

We believe 420 square feet includes the balcony. That would mean Dan's figure of 360 square feet on the Marina (and Riviera) would probably be more correct in terms of interior space.

Pretty close. The Mariner's interior space is 376 sq. ft. The balcony is 73 sq. ft. for a grand total of 449 sq. ft.

DW and I have upgraded to a penthouse next September. We were wondering if the balcony is large enough to accommodate a dinner. We're specifically wondering if we ordered something a little fragrant, like a lobster, if we could keep the smells outdoors. A little help from the more experienced cruisers would be appreciated.

The balcony has two chairs and a small side table - not as high as a dining table, nor as large. It's fine to set a drink on and perhaps a small plate of appetizers, but that's about it.

A Penthouse Veranda is way too tight for a proper dinner to be served, as there is absolutely no room for a standard height dining table AND the passengers AND the Butler.

131258.jpg The second issue for this inquiry is that even if one does eat the food outside, the meal would still be entering through, and be staged inside the Suite, so doing so would not shelter the stateroom from smells.

To be fair, however, I've never noticed any lingering odors, even when a full Dinner is served inside the cabin, where, by the way, you will dine far more comfortably.

Hi im and Stan,

Would your answer be the same for 7128/7133?

not Jim but I think those balconies are much deeper so maybe a larger table would fit

of course you may have to sit out a bit & be overlooked ;)

The Verandas of any of the four Penthouses at the back of the Ship on Deck 7

could easily handle a full sized dining room table, but the OP did not mention an extended veranda, so I did not want to open up a can of worms.
