24 hours a day ????

Recommended Posts

We are going on Allure next month and hubby wants to know if there will be things to do 24 hours a day? I know some things are not open all the time, but if we are not able to sleep at 3am, will there be something to do other than walk around the ship? Is the casino open 24 hours? bars open 24 hours? Food places open 24 hours? etc??

No...it's not a 24 hour thing....the casino closes around 2-3...or whenever there are few people there. There may be A bar open somewhere, but at that hour, it's doubtful. Room service will deliver (for a small fee after midnight), but walking the deck may be your only option at 3 am. The pools will be open...at least 1!

I have not been on that ship, but on others the seating is often open in various lounges even if serving staff are not there. You could plan for a book or ipad to fill a few hours of those wee hours. Or watch the stars on an upper deck.

Last summer on the Valor my cabin neighbours found something to do pretty much at that time every night!

There are always things to do - one of those things happens to be sleep. Activities slow down in the 2:00-3:00 AM time frame so why not schedule a bit of sleep around then - so you won't be nodding off early the next evening when many other activities are happening: shows, discos, casino, late dining, dancing, piano bars, karaoke, etc?

O'Sheehans on NCL; as previously mentioned Promenade Cafe (both serve beer and wine). Some ships have slots still open when casino closes...:p:D

Just thought I'd actually answer your question...

Check with cruise lines to see which ships have these amenities.;)

Hot tubs are open 24 hours a day on Oasis class ships ;), or at least they were when I sailed in October

There's always at least one open even late at night. It may not be the same one every night, it just depends on the cleaning schedule of the hot tubs. :)

Just some random thoughts...

Deck 5: As others suggested, the Cafe Promenade is open 24 hrs, where you can get coffee, tea, sandwiches, desserts, and pizza. Guest Services is also open 24 hrs in case you have questions. Outside Deck 5 is the jogging/walking track...great views.

Deck 6: Nothing will be open but the Boardwalk is a nice place to visit.

Deck 8: Another place to find a quiet spot is Central Park...note the calming sounds of birds. (Sorry, they are recorded and piped in...no real birds.) You also have Dazzles...a nightclub that may be open at 3am depending on the passengers on your sailing.

Deck 11: Library

Deck 14: Card Room

Deck 15: Solarium...and two oversized whirlpools at each entrance with large screen televisions.

Then if you walk over the sports deck area, the basketball court and the golf putting area never really closes but it will be difficult to see at 3am.

Deck 17: The Viking Crown Lounge is a favorite place for passengers to visit....

and lastly, in case you'd like to pray...the Chapel is always open. :)

The sports court is lighted so basketball is an option.
