El Cheapo Cruises Thread

Help please. Anyone know of a cheap cruise with a nice 5-15 days itinerary out of Sydney, Singapore or Hong Kong in July? I found a P&O Sydney return up the east coast that looks interesting and the price is reasonable. Anyone seen anything else for July? We really need a short break.

Seeing as most of the ships do not return until late October or November, P&O may be your best bet.

Boy, do I agree with this!!! It would be the hardest and worst website to navigate around by far!!!.

So glad it's not just me! I literally cannot find a cruise on it, even when I know what I'm looking for... I can imagine the meeting when the concept for the new site was being explained to the head honchos. I bet is sounded innovative and cool... shame nobody can navigate it [emoji15].

Cause they taken an US system and tried to make it work for AUD system and their IT area not that good haha

Spot on. Plus retail isn't their main game; TAs are.

When you add it all together the AU direct customer is way down the pecking order of US IT development.

Oh what a pity - I'll be flying to Japan the next day so no good for me :(

Great price though - hopefully someone will be lucky.

LOL, I was thinking great myself and then realised we are already booked for that time as well.:D

Yeah, A couple of times I have within a hare's whisker of booking something and then had a look at the calendar to discover we are going to a wedding or are already away. The problems of being retired. I thought I would have all this time but it's already well and truly taken up :)

You were lucky you realised it then. Similar to Aussie Flyer, I recently saw a great bargain.....so much so, I got very excited and booked it straight away and paid a (small) deposit. Gave it a little while and then told darling wife I had booked us the bargain of the year. Her reply......"you idiot!!....we have a family wedding in Tasmania at that time". Had to cancel and bang went my deposit!!!!

Even when you want to book they put obstacles in your path! Won't even show you available cabins in different categories. Between the awful website and the P&O reviews being so awful, I'm ready to give up.

Time just evaporates once you retire or so I have been told.

I've just booked a cruise with an agent with drink package included. And just got an email from P&O offering the same cruise for same price on sale without drink package! Go figure :(

Seems like I not got such a good deal now as they saying the drink package was not included.I have to pay more.

Been offered the 11 night cruise to the islands for $1350 including drink package.

Just wondering what to do as normally I would pay last min around $800 for something like this so not sure. We borderline if we would normally spend $550 each on drink for this length of cruise.

The cruise is now for sale without drink package for $1099 though.

$1350 pp including drink package sounds like a bargain for oceanview or above room?

Its obstructive view. We've stayed in this cabin about 4 times and are happy with it.

Will most prob pay today and go ahead.

Will be able to enjoy cruise have what drink I want without having to worry about the bill at the end.

Just have to save money for casino now :)
