Bigdadofthesea Posted September 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2014 I just booked a 5 night getaway for November and received a$ 400 OBC. We have another cruise booked for January. Can we "carry over " any unused OBC to the January cruse?

Rare Coral Posted September 23, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) You could carry it over if you had a b2b, but not for cruises separated by a day or more Some of the terminology on these promos have changed - I wonder if it is still able to be carried over on a b2b or I wonder if some can be carried over (shareholder?) and others can't (3 for free?). I don't know one way or another but this is one of the conditions of a new promo: †† Free onboard spending money is in the form of an onboard credit. Up to $100 onboard credit per stateroom ($50 per person) and $25 per 3rd and 4th berth guests applies to Europe voyages. Up to $50 onboard credit per stateroom ($25 per person) and $15 per 3rd and 4th berth guests applies to Alaska and Japan voyages. Onboard spending money may be used on a single voyage only, is not redeemable for cash and expires at the end of that voyage. cb at sea Posted September 23, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Nope...obc's are meant to be used (or lost) on 1 cruise. It's an incentive...not a payday!
Bigdadofthesea Posted September 23, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the definitive reply. The "fine print" is very clear. I guess I'll have to suffer by spending the $400 on the getaway cruise.:D Edited September 23, 2014 by Bigdadofthesea

SoCal Cruiser78 Posted September 23, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) A bit OT: What is the latest info on using OBC in the casino on Princess? I have never done it, but have far more OBC than I will be able to use on my upcoming 4-nighter, so was wondering if I could spend some there rather than wagering cash out of pocket? Some threads on this are getting old, so I thought I'd ask recent passengers. TIA. Edited September 23, 2014 by Ryndam2002

I guess I'll have to suffer by spending the $400 on the getaway cruise.:D Check at the customer Service desk to see if any or all of your OBCs are refundable. I brought some of the money home on my Princess cruise. On others it was spend it or lose it.

pablo222 Posted September 23, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Onboard spending money may be used on a single voyage only, is not redeemable for cash and expires at the end of that voyage.[/i] Since princess is giving away obc like water, I wonder if they will actually start following this... For my upcoming cruise, I have several credits listed. Some are marked: "*Please enjoy using these credits onboard as they are not refundable." And some are not. loufred Posted September 23, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Hi! I'm currently on the CB and am doing a B2B2B. I will find out the answer about rolling credits tonight when I visit passenger services. Today is a long day of sightseeing in Cozumel. Otherwise, I'd check earlier. stag Posted September 23, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 23, 2014 We were in B2B a year ago. We were told the credit could not be carried over to the next voyage. Another interesting note. We did not consume all drinks in the fridge. Since we are Elite members, the room service put all unused drinks on the table and refilled the fridge with complete set of new drinks. The drinks in the refrigerator are not an Elite perk. If they replaced all of them you were likely charged for the entire bunch. Only the mini-bar setup is part of the Elite perk. If you didn't take the rest of the stuff they removed and left on the table you probably still paid for it.

For an elite person the drinks in the refrigerator are an elite perk and if you do a b2b or even a long cruise that can be bought in segments you will get a refill. You are entitled to 8 miniatures of your choice. 2 x each cola, sprite, tonic water, soda water, spark, ling water, water and beer You can change these like for like as you wish. Astro Flyer Posted September 24, 2014 #17 Share Posted September 24, 2014 We were in B2B a year ago. We were told the credit could not be carried over to the next voyage. We've taken several b2b cruises & the balance from each cruise has rolled over to the next cruise even when there was a positive balance by not using all of our OBC. loufred Posted September 25, 2014 #18 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Here is information that I received today. If the credits are redeemable, then they can be carried over to the next cruise. If the credits are non-redeemable, they must be used on the cruise or forfeited. Apparently, this rule applies even if it is a back to back. Internet minutes will carry over to the next cruise, if it's a back to back. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
Coveguy4 Posted September 25, 2014 #19 Share Posted September 25, 2014 If the OBC is refundable it can be used in casino, from stock or FCC for example; if it with the new promotion, it cannot be used in casino. You can go to your personalizer and click under payments and credits and it will be broken down. Also to answer the drinks in fridge question....YES they are an Elite perk along with the mini bottles and beer....

This seems to be another of the things that Princess handles inconsistently. On the Golden in March we used most of our allotted 250 minutes on the 1st cruise of a b2b but were told by the internet café manager that any remaining minutes would not rollover to the 2nd cruise. :(

On the Golden in March we used most of our allotted 250 minutes on the 1st cruise of a b2b but were told by the internet café manager that any remaining minutes would not rollover to the 2nd cruise. :( And we have had the opposite experience of having our unused internet minutes rolled over to the second leg of a b/b; so obviously any roll over is at the discretion of the person you speak to at the Internet Café.
