MamanMagoo Posted October 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2014 Hi - we have booked a cruise with the select drinks package - can we buy glasses of wine and take them back to our cabin? Also the same with the water- can we fill up a drinks bottle to take back or do we have to buy botted water for the room? Any other tips on the drinks onboard welcome :)
CruiserBruce Posted October 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2014 Yes, once purchased, you can take your drinks pretty much anywhere you want. Same with water. Just bring on board one refillable water bottle per person. taglovestocruise Posted October 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2014 You can also bring two bottles of wine with you when you board.
MamanMagoo Posted October 5, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted October 5, 2014 Is that two bottles per person or per room - and is that for the whole trip - our trip is for 12 days :-)
luvscruising2007 Posted October 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2014 I believe RC is 2 bottles per stateroom and that is for the whole trip.
CruiserBruce Posted October 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 5, 2014 The bottles need to be refillable. That is the key.
tjncanada Posted October 5, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 5, 2014 I believe RC is 2 bottles per stateroom and that is for the whole trip. Yes, that is correct - 2 750ml bottles regardless of length of trip and it's only allowed on embarkation day. The only exception would be if it was a back-2-back cruise - you could double it and they would hold the second 2 and deliver them to your stateroom on the first day of the second leg of the back-2-back. But if the 12 days is one cruise then only 2 bottles. Tom Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 5, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 5, 2014 Remember that the bottles of wine allowed are for adults only. If there is one adult and one child in a cabin -- then only one bottle can only be brought onto the ship.

cb at sea Posted October 6, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 6, 2014 You ask your cabin attendant to make SURE your ice bucket is filled 2Xs daily...and you use ice water from your tap! The water is fine, but you do need ice (which, by the way, is made from the same water in your tap!) to make it cold! There is no need to buy water at all...bring a refillable bottle, if you need to carry water around with you. We just get a glass whenever we're thirsty at any bar or eating venue! spookwife Posted October 6, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 6, 2014 Is that two bottles per person or per room - and is that for the whole trip - our trip is for 12 days :-) 2 per CABIN regardless of how many people ae in the cabin. and ONLY at the embarkation port. for water.. tap water is free but DO NOT fill a personal bottle directly. please use the cups provided and pour from there. bottle water must be purchased. spookwife Posted October 6, 2014 #12 Share Posted October 6, 2014 Remember that the bottles of wine allowed are for adults only. If there is one adult and one child in a cabin -- then only one bottle can only be brought onto the ship. incorrect. as long as there is one legal adult the cabin limit is 2 bottles.. but in the case of a large family where Mom and dad are in the Balcony and the kids are in an interior across the hall, they MAY NOT Bring 2 bottles of wine for the interior cabin. which is why many times you see cruises booked with one adult and a kid in each cabin and they just sleep where they want on board( perfectly legitimate and allowed)
leaveitallbehind Posted October 6, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) Remember that the bottles of wine allowed are for adults only. If there is one adult and one child in a cabin -- then only one bottle can only be brought onto the ship. As pointed out that is incorrect. The RCI policy is per stateroom, not per passenger, regardless of age as long as one of the passengers listed on the stateroom manifest is 21 or over. By that same policy, a solo cruiser in a stateroom who is also 21 or over can bring two bottles on board as well. Also water bottles can be refilled with the ship's water but not directly from a dispenser due to health reasons. They have to be filled from a secondary container such as a ship's cup or glass that the water was dispensed into first. While bringing water bottles on board is frequently done (even though RCI's policy says no) there really is no need to do so as the ship's water is perfectly fine.
