thebts Posted February 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Is it usual to tip for room service at the time it is received or is it considered included in the gratuities rendered at the end of the cruise?
Rare LHT28 Posted February 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2015 We have tipped the couple of times we used it You get the same wait staff as the dining venues so your choice to tip or not
Rare Caroldoll Posted February 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2015 We feel that it is kind of a "little extra" and we do tip when we use it. If it is just something small like a sandwich for one in the middle of the day we don't. Personal thing.
bitob Posted February 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2015 We never tip room service If ur in a suite ur butler serves you and we tip him at the end of the cruise At the end of the cruise we decide which staff deserve something extra. For us it is always the butler, the steward and assistant and the baristas. Yes, the baristas. I suppose if we used room service a great deal and saw the same person over and over we might tip that person. Hasn't happened yet

Rare ronrick1943 Posted February 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2015 Agree always tip for room service---unless you have a Butler-then as part of your extra tip at the end of the cruise. Rick
Hambagahle Posted February 23, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2015 Not being American we never tip during the cruise. Tipping is not in our "culture". Here all tips are always included in the prices of meals/services etc. But we do add tips at the end of the cruise - over and above the already included or paid tips - to people who have gone out of their way to help us during the cruise. Butler, steward/ess, some waiters etc. And also occasionally we pop something into the cruise fund.

We tip generously where deserved but only at the end of the cruise
ricki Posted February 23, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 23, 2015 We tip at time of service for room service (unless it is our butler bringing our order.) It is not guaranteed that same person will always bring your room service request, and we don't want to miss someone. Ricki
