You can get a good jewelry roll bag online at QVC or HSN (I forget which - its whichever one has the Lori Greiner stuff) with the zippered clear pockets. The one I got came in a set of 3 sizes.

Found it: QVC Item # H201641 Set of 2 Silver Safekeeper Jewelry Cases by Lori Greiner, $32.48 & $5.00 shipping and handling.

My pearls go in a silk bag when I'm not wearing them. Then they along with everything else goes into a small 3" x 4" zippered pouch in the safe. I don't bring much jewelry, there's no reason to. A few pair of earrings, a bracelet, a couple necklaces, that's it.

I use a small Baggallini (5x5 inches) with pockets for rings, earrings, and necklaces and carry in my purse. Once onboard, I ask for a saucer to put all in the safe so it is easy to see what's there.

Thanks everyone. My pill boxes don't seem large enough to put much in them. I have pouches similar but they aren't clear. That is why I don't like mine. I really like those. I need to go shopping.

I have some real chunky jewelry that I need to protect from being pinched, etc.

I also have to put the boxes on their side to put in my purse - one time they weren't completley snapped - thank goodness I had them in zip lock bags. I don't trust the TSA people when they go through my bags. I've seen them dump a lady's purse out.

I saw a great idea on Pinterest to sandwich your necklaces between two layers of Glad Press n Seal. I'm going to try it.

I have used different size jewelry boxes but they are heavy and bulky. I have also used those silk pouches - put each piece in a different one and put them in zip lock bags but that takes too much time to search for the pieces I want - I tried putting them by color into the same color bags but still takes too long. I don't like clear plastic bags because some stones should not be stored in plastic bags for long periods but that is the lightest and easiest to see.

I am trying to lighten the load since we will be traveling around Europe for several weeks after our cruise. I always keep the jewelry in my purse but I keep finding more things I want close to me and it is getting pretty heavy these days. I also plan to leave it in the hotel while touring around. I have decided not to take any of my really good stuff this trip. I love jewelry for the ship - don't wear much off the ship.

Just wondering what others use to store theirs.

Thanks.

On our last cruise, I put my jewelry in some press and seal. It worked great... sort of. I put 2 or 3 necklaces on a sheet, and then folded it over each one. it traveled beautifully, but when I was done wearing it, I had trouble reusing the press and seal to pack it back up. =(

I don't travel with a lot of jewelry, just my watch, 1 or 2 pair of earrings, maybe a ring. I have more of a problem with taking things off at night, and it slides off the nightstand or dresser. I found a small coin-purse size bag that is easy to see. It travels well, and I can carry it in my purse or carry-on so I can see it is TSA decides to check it out.

I put all my necklaces on my hand then tied them together at the top and the bottom with a ribbon on each end (as soon as I got to my cabin I could hang them up together) then place in a clear bag. I did the same with my bracelets. All my heavy cuffs and rings I put in a small bag and my earrings in a pouch. It all gets stored in the inside zip of my suitcase.

I tend to float towards the heavy ethnic/costume Jewellery though. My fine Jewellery stays in my box at home as I keep it for sentimental reasons only.

The tying at both ends technique would work with fine chains though.

To keep fine necklace chains from tangling, you can use drinking straws. Cut them to fit the length of the chain -- then feed one end through the straw, and fasten the clasp. If you have several, it's easy to bundle them together.

I use small silk pouches and use a self-stick tiny label to mark what is in each. I never put those pouches in a jewelry carrier as that would be the first thing someone would lift out of my carryon were they to steal at security etc. I use cases we got as Airline refresh kits when we flew transatlantic to Europe. One would think it a small cosmetic case and push it aside to look for the 'good stuff'. :) They work perfectly and safely.
