Just read a review that said the aft adults only pool was full of smokers , is this true ? On the Regal/Royal

There is no aft pool on tne Royal.

You might want go pose this on the one and only permitted smoking thread here on the Princesx board.

I can't answer this for you. But, I was on the same cruise as the OP and when we went exploring on the last day the aft pool and bar area on the Regal reeked of smoke. It was all over the place.

Yup the aft pool was a smoking area. We couldn't even sit there so much smoke.

Yes it is totally disgusting and is not a nice place to be. Princess should restrict the smoking to one of the upper decks well out of the way.

The designated smoking area is underneath the roof overhang that is close to the pool, but on my sailing I found that the smoking spilled over to the loungers. I did not see smoking in the pool itself.

IMHO, Princess needs to address this situation. Complaining here on CC does little good, you need to put it in your survey comments which is what DH and I did. I gave the cruise/ship high marks all around except for this!

We like to book aft suites and I have not been happy the past two years because we have had ashes all over our balcony and even a few cigarettes. The smell is very strong at times especially when they are smoking cigars. People will smoke over the aft railing and drop their ashes - this happened one cruise when we were in the grand suite which is just one deck down.

On the Regal, the aft pool/bar area was 1 of 2 designated smoking areas. It was worse on sea days when you had a constant flow of smokers all day.... and the only way to get there from midship is to walk thru the gym which I avoided on sea days because of the smell and high smelly traffic. The other smoking area was promenade aft, port I believe and all the times I looked that way it was empty or just 1 person so clearly the upper deck is the most popular.

Yes on the Regal the aft dipping pool area was full of smokers, and soot was all over the deck area too near the pool.

With the soot issue it makes sense to allow smoking in that area. Either way you are breathing in fumes.

Where are the smoking areas listed?? I've often found a great place to sit & within a few minutes a smoker comes & lights up. If I knew where to avoid, I would.
