Priority Tendering

You will either go to Michael's club or the room being used for priority tendering. They will release you from there to board the tenders...and you will board before those who have general boarding. Top priority has always been those on ship excursions, but with the suite focus, who knows who has top priority.

The last time we did Priority Tendering, we all met in a lounge, the Capt. Club hostess was there with her walkie talkie. As soon as the ship was cleared, she was notified, and we all proceeded to the elevators down to the tender boarding area.

When we tendered last year in Italy - we were escorted by Milli Michael's club concierge directly to tender. Nice perk!

I guess I haven't reached the point in life where I need or want someone to walk me to a tender. Just tell me the deck and which stairway and I can make it on my own.

Just ask your Butler, he will get your priority tender ticket plus any additional ones you require for your friends.

Really? So a Suite guest organizes a private shore excursion for herself and 50 others. And they all get priority tendering? That doesn't seem right. Suite guests, ok. Friends and synchophant hangers on, please no.

Yes that did happen to us, I organised a trip in Santorini last year when aboard the Reflection. One of our party was a Suite guest and she requested and received 18 priority tender tickets for our group.

Sorry, that just doesn't seem right to me.:(

Why ? - you pay enough, that one of the privileges.

Even Elite Captain's club members can get priority tender tickets and we had a bundle of 8 when we tendered at Villefranche. If you don't ask you don't get !!

I have no issue at all with Suite occupants getting the perks they pay for. I do have an issue with them sharing the perks with 16 of their close [?] friends. It is the same issue that others have raised about guests in Michaels Club. If you have earned or payed for the privilege, enjoy the perks. If not, don't freeload on the coattails of someone else.

I worked hard to achieve Elite status ( living in UK we can't just hop on a cruise ship to earn that status )

I had to wait 3 hrs in Split to get off; since then I have avoided cruises with Tender ports.

However, now that I am Elite, I have no worries- until I read this thread and realise that I may still have to wait, if other passengers are abusing the system.

The only certain way to get off early, is to book a tour organised by Celebrity.

Value of priority tender varies with port and ship....

.On our Carib cruise on Ref , open tenders did not get called til 1 pm.(forgot the port) .we were happily staying on board having lunch at Bistro...

On Santorini, best for us was to take an excursion.with Celebrity....off to an early start.

We went out first onto a sep tender over to a difff landing area....bus took us up the big hill and then onto our trip....we avoided tbe donkey trail and any lines for the cable car going up....also got to Oia earlier than most others...then on to a winery and then brief city tour...

many times we now stay on board in tender ports.....

Dont bank on your Elite status getting you to shore earlier. We were in St Thomas January 2014. Received our priority tickets , but our friends werent elite so didnt get any. We said we would wait for them where the tenders docked. However it transpired that there were that many Elites one tender station took them and the rest had to queue for the other, at the other end of the ship

There were that many in Elite that our friends were waiting for us ! I thought it was very amusing. Even better when we got back onboard we got a drink and sat near Guest Relations listening to the very loud complaints about the wait for 'priority tendering'

One guy came and sat down with us and repeated the complaints we had already heard. Nearly died laughing when my new friend from Canadia said very calmly .

"So you stood in a line at Guest Relations for 15 minutes, then complained for a further 10 minutes to the staff and a further 5 minutes to the Manager. All in all your time complaining , 30 minutes, was 5 minutes more than you had to wait for the Tender. Not sure you won that one.

Pleased I am not Elite but I had to wait 20 minutes for my new British Elite friend - do you think I should have a chat with Guest Relations when the line goes?"

Our new table companion sat with his mouth wide open for a few seconds and then said " How did they make Canucks and Brits so stupid" and walked off shaking his head. We laughed that much we had to have another drink!

Can anybody tell me how priority tendering works. We will be tendered in Mykonos and want to know how quickly we will be able to get off The Equinox. We get priority tendering with our Suite. Many thanks.

Celebrity always list Mykonos as a tender stop. Check too see if you are the only ship, if you are you will almost certainly dock and Celebrity will lay on a shuttle bus, yes you guessed correctly - they charge you for the privilege.

Check http://www.cruisett.com for number of ships in port on any day.
