If you look on the Florida Departures board, you will see dozens of threads on hotel recommendations. The Mods might even move it there, as it is not related to Princess.

Renaissance is right at 17th St/Eisenhower right at the entrance to the port.

If the ship is docked at Pier #2 you can walk.

 

Embassy Suites. 3 long blocks away on 17th St. Shuttle to the pier at less then $10 pp.

Hyatt Place on 10th right next to the Embassy Suites. Both are right next to a shopping center.

We also like the Renaissance. Easy walk from there to the port, Publix (grocery store) and Total Wines & More.

We cruise out of Ft Lauderdale often. We usually use Holiday Inn Express or Hyatt Place North. Both offer shuttles to pier for a small charge and both are well organized. We are sailing again on Jan 3. Hotel rates are very high for this period but we did find a decent rate at Embassy Suites. All three hotels are convenient to restaraunts and shopping. Smooth sailing !

Another vote for the Marriott Renaissance; nearby restaurants and a Wallgreens right across the street for munchies and last minute things.

There are many low cost hotels with free shuttles to the port. We use the Hilton brand with points..

Another vote for the Renaissance......Walgreen's is right across the street for last minute items and if you don't want to walk to Total Wine, they also have a bit of a wine selection. Two restaurants very close - Bimini and there is an Italian place whose name escapes me at the moment - the front desk can tell you. Anyway, we also like their pool area if you are going to have the opportunity to relax a bit the day before or the morning of the cruise.

Holiday Inn Express, free breakfast and close to restaurants and stores. We prefer a cab to the port which is close by. Hate waiting for a shuttle to fill up and wait for bags to be unloaded.

Take a look at the Embassy Suites. Nice hotel and a great breakfast which is inclusive of the room cost.

Same side a block or 2 down from the Embassy Suites toward the port entrance.
