cb at sea Posted September 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2015 If the travel advice states none are required, that's what I'd do, especially, with the plans you have.
Rare LHT28 Posted September 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2015 You can check with this site to see what the entry requirements are https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice If you have a travel clinic check with them or your doctor
Rare John Bull Posted September 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2015 Assuming you are travelling from the UK, there are no mandatory vaccinations. We know nothing about you or your medical history, so for any advisory safeguards, including top-ups for hep A / B etc. fix an appointment with your surgery nurse. Take along your itinerary, including any overnites in port or ashore. This consultation is still free in most surgeries. JB :)
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2015 No mandadatory vaccinations to any of these areas. Keith
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 14, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Even though there are no mandatory vaccinations required, I would still make certain that you have your Flu shot, Pneumonia shot, tetanus, etc.
Rare martincath Posted September 14, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 14, 2015 UK govt simply points you to Travel Health Pro these days - may as well go directly there unless you also want to find out about civil unrest issues and the like rather than just health info. Depending how you are getting to your start point you may need to prove you are up-to-date on Yellow Fever vaccine (arriving from or even passing through any of the countries on this list for 12 hours or more means all three of the countries you mention want to see a vaccination certificate dated within the last decade...) Apart from the above and the generally-sensible-to-keep-up-to-date things listed by others already there's no need for vaccinations, but you should definitely consider practical precautions against mosquito bites (long sleeves, DEET etc). Anti-malarial prophylactic treatments might be desirable especially if you are going on any inland forest area excursions; unfortunately Dengue fever is present throughout the region and doesn't have anything you can do except avoid being bitten by mosquitos... zqvol Posted September 15, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2015 OP, whether they are required or not the best advice is to check with your primary health care provider. He or she may want you to have them even if they are not required. Also please be wary of advice from US posters, it is probably a safe assumption that they do not know the requirements that exist in Scotland.
