Going to be in Cabo on Feb 5th and trying to book an independent tour. Just curious if the ships time stays at pacific or goes one hour fwd to Mountain time. Also, we arrive at 7:00am (tender and would need to meet right by the pier at 8:45, is this enough time. Thank you in advance.

Tendering would normally start around 7:30, so you do have enough time.

Early tender use will require use of a tender ticket. The time and location for tender tickets will be listed in the Patter for that day. To get on one of the first tenders, be on line for a ticket about 15 minutes before the listed time. All people in your group need to be there together to obtain the tender tickets.

If you are arriving in a port with a different time zone your room steward will leave a little notice during turndown the night before stating whether to set your clocks forward or backwards. Hope that helps :)

!!! ship time stays on the same time as the port it sails from and does not change in different time zones . !!!

This is absolutely incorrect. The ship's time changes with each and every time zone. Do believe 737...you are notified when it will happen.

In my experiences the ship time stays on the same time as the port it sails from and does not change in different time zones .
As others have posted, except in rare exceptions, ship's time is adjusted to local time. On our last Mexico cruise the clocks were set forward before Cabo for Cabo, Loreto and La Paz and then one more hour forward for Puerto Vallarta.

We have never had the time not change in different time zones. The last time that we sailed Princess to the Mexican Riviera the ship's time always changed to reflect the local time zone that we were in.

So, yes to the OP's original question.

Almost always the ship changes to local time and last year on the Star which stopped in Cabo we did change to local time. Almost always is not always and I have been at ports on Princess cruises where the ship's time was not set to local time. This is rare. In any case your tour operator will know the time your ship arrives.

Tour operators should know what time your ship arrives--but don't always. When we were on the Island Princess, the ship's time was an hour ahead in Costa Rica. Our tour operator did not realize it. Fortunately, some of his friends were nearby and called him, so we did not have to wait too long.

As others have posted, the majority of the time, the ship will adjust clocks an hour ahead or an hour back depending on local time of the port visit. You will always receive a little reminder card the prior evening, usually with your bed turndown service and night chocolates.

I have been on LA to Mexico sailings (10 days) that did not change time at any point. So ship time was different than local time at almost every stop. I have also been on many of the same 10 day itinerary sailings where it seemed we were changing the time forward, back, forward, back, forward, back. Many time changes.

The ship will always let you know one way or the other.

This is file if you are on a tour organized for passengers on your ship.

But if you have signed up for an independent tour that always starts at 8:00 AM and has passengers from several ships, do not count on the vendor to know that you, and only you, might not be there at 8.
