Same ole, same ole.....nothing yet.

Once on the Liberty, we left home the day before the cruise around 4 PM with no cabin assignment for our GTY. When we checked in with the porters the next morning, they had our cabin number. Surprises are nice, no? :D

Sounds like the captain's quarters may be becoming for of a reality for you. :)He better start packing his bags.:D

That would work!

That appears to be a solarium hot tub. I can't believe people weren't rioting on the ship. You and I have something else in common I see. I never get into one of those things either.

Carol...is that from your current cruise?

Could we have been twins separated at birth, perhaps with a cross of German and Italian heritage? Are you in FLL yet or still at home? Whatever the case I hope all travels by air and sea go smooth. I hope as you read this you are sitting in a Fort Lauderdale hotel, or finishing your packing for a Friday morning flight.

Still nothing! :eek::eek::eek:

RCI is probably watching this thread and chuckelling. Seriously there are two possibilities. 1. You will get a cabin when they finish moving other GTY around. 2. The ship is really oversold and they are offering people money to switch cruises and you will get a cabin when they finish moving folks around.

Have a great cruise!

I booked a cruise last Saturday..took an inside guarantee....waiting for an assignment...there were a few OVs left and one inside......

I watched as every category sold out yesterday morning.

I am wondering if I will get a cabin or maybe they overbooked??

It is for the BR Feb 4th...only 16 days from now.

Anyone else ever have this situation??

Very bizarre,if you ask me..

Not bizarre at all. People do cancel all the way up to departure and it's a delicate balance of musical cabins to assign GTY. At some point (and it could at the pier) you will get a cabin assignment. Nothing to worry about. If for some reason the ship is in an oversell (just like the airlines) RCI's inventory/dispatch will offer "moveover" deals to passengers to switch ships or date to increase berths. Whatever the case....just relax and in 16 day you will be sipping cocktails as the ship sails out of port. FYI--just because a category shows "sold out" does not mean there aren't cabin available internally. Cruise line routinely hold back cabins to accommodate GTY, but don't show them as currently available to sell.

Please don't be one of those people who never come back to tell us what you got! I'd like to be able to look at the deck plan and say Wow! That was worth the wait!

I keep reporting every day on here...........

5pm report?? Still an inside guarantee........:o

Isn't $100 the typical FCC for an inside? Good luck with the assignment though

Kathy, this is a different side of you. As I remember you, very confident, always positive.

My gut says that Royal Caribbean will give you something very nice!

A quick story of my own. In 2001, we were booked on the Celebrity Mercury, for a back to back voyage to Alaska and back. We had been given a great deal by our TA, on a balcony guarantee, and he said that the ship was full, except for a couple of Sky Suites, and his bet was that we would get one.

We arrived in Vancouver, BC, and were met by the ships porters, and we told them we had no idea of what our cabin number was. They looked on their manifest and could not find our name, and told us that we needed to keep our bags with us, and we head on in to the terminal.

We gave the agent our reservation, and passports, and waited at the counter for about 5 minutes, till the agent returned and told us to have a seat, while our cabin was sorted out.

We waited for almost a half hour, when a lady from the ship appeared, introduced herself, and apologized for making us wait for such a long time, but assured us that there was a cabin available, found a porter, told him of our cabin number, and then escorted us aboard. We were given a glass of champagne, and this kind lady assured us that she had hoped we would be satisfied with the cabin she was able to secure for us.

Well, she opened the door to our cabin, and I just about died! She asked both of us if this would be acceptable, and we were very humble and said, in unison.......YES!

We were given a Royal Suite, separate bedroom, etc, and unfortunately that set us on a course of sailing in suites, that we have never gotten over.

Who knows Kathy........you may well end up in something very nice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!:)
