I loved deck 2 on the Brilliance! Did a TA in an inside from Harwich to Boston. It's quiet and even the farthest cabin will be close to the elevators. If you're impatient, it's a quick walk to deck 4, which is the heart of the action.

Now there is one balcony showing..........gee,you would think after all this,I would get that,,:p

Anyway,as I told my husband, when we come back from port,we won't have to wait for an elevator:D and I did say only 2 decks up to 4.easy walk..

Great thread Kathy! I was praying for something better for you. I have played the same game, and sometimes I win and sometimes I lose. I love to cruise and that is the name of the game.

Enjoy your cruise!!:)

We just booked a few nights ago with a outside view guarantee as well. Ours came today and its deck 4 on the front curve of Enchantment. Not an ideal locations, but close to the elevator and casino up a deck :). Our first time trying a GTY room and for a 3 night quick cruise, I cant complain. Who stays in their room that much. lol. Does the upgrade fairy ever come to gty rooms after assignment? Hope so, its our 35th anniversary!

Glad you got a room finally. I've been watching and hoped you would have got a good one.

Have fun!

Actually you did very well getting an one class of cabins upgraded assignment to an OV cabin for your inside guarantee and it's over a week before you embark. One nice thing about a lower deck OV is one really gets to see the action of the sea in those cabins. I've been there on a Radiance class ship. Like others have said it a very quiet area due to the fact there's very little traffic and very convenient to the elevators, stairs and action on deck four, five and six. I know one hopes to be upgraded to a balcony with such a booking but that rarely happens.

We've had our I-OV guarantee for our next cruise, a Brilliance October TA, for two weeks now since booking it on Anthem and there aren't any insides or OV cabins showing available for selection. No guarantees are being offered in these two classes now either. Still lots of balconies showing available but even these are starting to be whittled down.

We're wondering if it's going to be an 8 months or longer wait for us but like you said that's what happens when you book a guarantee. :D

Glad you got a cabin. Im late entering this thread. But we just booked our first guaranteed room. (Inside). Got a great deal on the room and really like a balcony but wanted to just get away after the holidays.(Jan 2020).

we dont care where we are at on this cruise but Yes need a room.

crazy thing I cant figure out. The only rooms sold out are inside rooms. Rest are all available. Why would inside sell out first? Remember this isnt till late January.

other websites say call to book an inside.. rest are available...

enjoy your cruise..

Several people book a year or so in advance, especially those needing an accessible cabin.  The Suites and Insides are usually the first type of cabins booked.

You'll have a place to sleep. It might be a lounge chair by the pool, but they'll find room for you somewhere.

Just kidding, or course. You'll have a cabin. Just have a bit of patience and it will work out.

At least they would have their choice of the best loungers. I wouldn't care as long as they kept free drinks coming. :classic_biggrin:  :classic_biggrin: :classic_biggrin:

Really! I did not know that.so whats the ods of getting upgraded?

Between slim and none, and slim just walked out the door.

With the RoyalUp program, guarantees are usually getting the worst cabin in that category.

Other than general grumbling about RoyalUp, would you say that with RoyalUp, guarantees are usually getting the worst cabin in that category?  Really, all gty booking should plan to be happy with that, and many people on the ship feel like they have got it.  Always have...so what makes you say that now?

People who successfully bid through RoyalUp could be vacating the best cabin in their old category, the worst cabin in their old category or, logically most commonly, something in between.  And it happens too late to swap cabins. So, if one has a gty booking and seems to be getting a cabin vacated by a RoyalUp upgrade, logic would dictate that Royal Up program might marginally increase the odds that a gty booking would get a decent (or good) cabin in the promised category (though it probably decreases the odds of an upgrade to a higher category if that’s what you really mean).  Is my logic flawed?
