OUTSTANDING!! I haven't cruised on Princess, but this sure makes me think about it! That Sanctuary looks delightful! And your cabin is great!

 

The photos are so wonderful! With your narration, makes me feel like I'm right along with you!

 

I leave on a Carnival this Saturday... and this review definitely gets me in the mood to cruise!!!

Thank you for the great review. Taking all those amazing photos and then posting them takes a tremendous amount of time and effort.

 

The Crown is a wonderful ship - you captured her beautifully and perfectly.

This was a great read and a great view. The pictures were excellent; very clear and they tell lots of stories. I do have a question, are the other ships like Emerald and Crown pretty much the same layout as Ruby? I am booked on Emerald in Alaska. I realize there are a few differences; but for the most part are they the same? I ask because looking at your pictures; I assume the Emerald will look the same. I do know Emerald now has Share that replaced Sabbitini's.

I've only been on the Caribbean Princess, Sapphire Princess and the Crown Princess. I am not familiar with the Emerald Princess or the Ruby Princess.

Maybe you remember me? Was on the Explorer repo from Bayonne to Port Canaveral (we were tablemates). I was one of the Denise's. As luck would have it Denise and I are doing AK this year ( on Coral princess and Radiance) and Ruby Princess to Mexican Riviera and sea of Cortez next January. You have given me a good idea for San Diego. Great review too!

I assume you are referring to my camera. I took two cameras. Most of the pictures were taken with a Nikon 5200 DSLR set for either auto or no flash. Most of the pictures were taken with an 11->16 wide angle zoom or an 18->140 zoom. The other camera is a Canon P&S set on auto, sometimes with the flash set not to fire. Very few of the pictures were taken with the Canon.

The reason for the ship's different route through LB was because there had been a midair crash between 2 private planes en route to Torrance airport & search operations restricted the normal route through the Angels Gate breakwater...there were no survivors.

 

Unfortunately Princess doesn't always show live events on the cabin's entertainment system. I've read that licensing fees increase when shown at multiple places on the ship but to me it's just being cheap & maybe they want us out of our cabins buying drinks. I've seen NFL playoff games in Club Fusion which has many TVs & was okay to watch games because as you said it was impossible to get a seat to watch games on MUTS.

 

Thank you for the information you provided. I didn't know there had been a midair collision. As to big events I want to see, I'll avoid Princess in the future.

Thanks for the review and pics. We will be on the Crown in May for an Alaska cruise and your shots of the upper decks have given me some good ideas for areas to view Glacier Bay from.

I will be on on the Crown Princess for the first time for her April 23 California Coastal sailing. I've a balcony on Caribe deck too so really appreciated your great balcony photos. Looking forward to returning to Princess after many HAL and Celebrity cruises.

Thank you! This was really the best review of a ship I've ever seen. This is be only my second time on a Princess ship. First time was 15 years ago and alot has changed I'm sure. Thank you for sharing the info about the balconies and decks. We were last minute bookings and were even lucky to get on the Aloha deck. I guess we will live. Looking forward to this cruise.
