Recommended Posts

From time to time some on this board ask about doing a tour of Jewish areas of Venice. I thought this article would be of interest.

Very interesting article. Definitely interested in this tour next time I'm in Venice.

 

Interestingly, the Jewish ghetto of Rome is one of the oldest settlements of Jews outside of Palestine; it seems the first Jews arrived in Rome in the 2nd century BC. The food in Rome's Jewish quarter today is probably one of the best representations of traditional (ancient) Roman cookery.
