Room right beside elevator

Recommended Posts

I have just checked online and found out the room we are booked into is right next to the elevator , we will have a six year old with us, will it be noisy ?? Sorry if this sounds silly but may ask for room change if it will be

Thanks lesley x

What ship? Cabins are along hallways. There are walls and doors between the elevators and the cabin areas. Ships with a Centrum might have some noise that could be heard in the hallway....especially in the evening.

What ship? Cabin #?

I was in 7631 on Liberty this year and had absolutely zero issues. Look up the deck plans and see if this is similar to your setup.

OP's signature indicates Independence of the Seas and the stateroom location is really irrelevant regarding the question of noise from the elevators as others have said, the staterooms are in corridors behind the elevator lobbies and are insulated from any noise. We've been in similar locations by choice on a number of ships and have never had any noise issues and like the location because of the proximity to the elevator lobbies.

Don't even know what is on deck ten ha ha , the guy at Royal carrribbean said it was a lovely room and location x

Deck ten is all staterooms, most of which are suites. The aft elevator lobby also is the location of the Concierge Club for suite guests. Forward of your stateroom is the bridge with the Captain's and Senior Officers quarters. Believe me when I tell you this will be a very quiet deck, especially in your location!

Here is a link to the ship's deck plans, currently open on deck 10:

Enjoy your cruise!

I don't think the elevator noise will be an issue as others have mentioned.

However, I noticed deck 10 on Indy is the pool deck/solarium above your cabin... We stayed right below the pool deck on a Carnival ship once and I had to ask to be moved due to the noise from above!

Thank you for all your comments, does any one feel then that. Being bellow the pool will be an noise issue? I know it shouldn't be an issue at night and I hope we are having that much fun we won't notice it too much as will be shattered lol xxx

As others have said, the room will be very convenient, and no added noises, the cabins really are not right next to the elevators, a hall separates them. Have a fantastic trip!

Ye, especially on the Brilliance class during musical performances. Absolutely the pits.
