KarlChilders Posted August 1, 2016 #27 Share Posted August 1, 2016 The promo does seem to have changed slightly, I was just doing a mock booking, and it only allowed you to combine one option with free 3&4 guests, whereas before you could combine any two options. Might just be a glitch on the website, but it was not allowing you, for instance, to select UBP and excursion credit, or UBP and specialty dining. ColinIllinois Posted August 1, 2016 #28 Share Posted August 1, 2016 Just curious for those of you who are looking for "better" promos than the current one. What exactly are you looking for?

Rare mking8288 Posted August 1, 2016 #32 Share Posted August 1, 2016 Yawn on the extension of current/previous/prior promotions ... using the new lablel of "Open Bar" - nothing new. Stay the course, steady - Q2 earnings being released tomorrow, all hands on deck. It's a proven strategy, gotta remain "upbeat" on the financial forecast. The $39 overnight cruise fare (inside P/P) between YVR and SEA is gone, it seemed. Wait, I spotted something ... ice water included as part of the base cruise fare - wow

Pre-paid DSC as other than the "adult beverages" and dining the other options do not so much for us since we travel alone.
Chesneygirl Posted August 1, 2016 #34 Share Posted August 1, 2016 The current promo says a $50 excursion credit per port. What do they do for Bermuda cruises, where it's only one port?

ColinIllinois Posted August 1, 2016 #36 Share Posted August 1, 2016 The current promo says a $50 excursion credit per port. What do they do for Bermuda cruises, where it's only one port? Promo Terms and Conditions. ;) Shore Excursion Credit Offer: $50 USD shore excursion credit is per stateroom. Limit 4 ports. Credit has no monetary value and is nonrefundable. Itineraries visiting less than 4 ports for any reason are not eligible for a refund or credit. In the event a port of call or excursion is missed, for any reason, no refund or credit will be issued. Shore excursion credit is applicable for each port, and is not transferable to other ports. Use the credit or lose it. Does not include embarkation and debarkation ports. Overnight stays count as one port, except Bermuda sailings which can receive up to 3 individual days of shore excursion credit. Shore excursion credit can only be redeemed by calling 1-866-625-1167 or booking onboard.

erocrobro Posted August 1, 2016 #39 Share Posted August 1, 2016 Just curious for those of you who are looking for "better" promos than the current one. What exactly are you looking for? If they could get the texting and calling features of the iConcierge app working reliably, I would love to have that as a perk. Could do up to 4 devices per room or something. Paid gratuities would also be nice, or expand 3/4 passengers free to more sailings. We can only cruise during the summer and not very many are offered then. My mom and sister made phone calls and said the quality was fine. Didn't have any issues. Hopefully that's a good sign for future use. :)

I had intended to purchase it for our Getaway cruise, but when we boarded the price had jumped to $12.99 so it would have been pricy for four. As a perk, I might take it. dreamr Posted August 2, 2016 #43 Share Posted August 2, 2016 (edited) I'll tell you what the August promo will be: "Free At Sea Offer Extended!" Just like the last few months. It counts down the days, "Only two days left!"..."Only one day left!" ..."Offer Extended!" It's getting old. lol Called it. haha I guess they really have run out of interesting things to offer. Either that, or this gimmick really is enticing people to book. *shakes head* As for what I'd like to see... Since I don't drink (I might have a drink or two, but the cost of a drink or two is far less than the gratuities on the UBP), and I usually don't go to many of the specialty restaurants (the solos usually dine together in the MDRs, and if I do decide to go to one of the specialties, it's usually the dinner theatre show), I'd much rather get some OBC or a free treatment at the spa or, as a solo traveler...no single supplement on a cruise I actually want to go on! haha They used to offer the OBC. I booked during a $100 OBC promo for my past three cruises. Haven't seen that in a while, though. Not since FDR took over. :( They really need some creative people working on their team. I'm sure there is something they could offer that they haven't offered for the past six months! Edited August 2, 2016 by dreamr
don't-use-real-name Posted August 2, 2016 #44 Share Posted August 2, 2016 For the lack of originality aptness and thought - since NCL has a monopoly on the issue of beverages and tentatively is raising it rates for future cruises - why not the same ole same ole ? Now won't that be a crowd pleasing move to please everyone ? I wonder what the Promo package will be next month or the month after that - simply the same ole same ole ! Here is a thought NCL - forget the raising rates and the beverage embargos simply sell a package where one can buy the promo package of his choice and bring on their own preferred beverages with a sort of corkage fee - AND GET RID OF YOUR FUDDY DUDDY MARKETING STAFF - give them a one-way cruise to a new employment ! Harsh - well maybe but it is time for a new marketing of originality aptness and thoughtful Promos - and not the same ole same ole shell game every month ! Halifax Dude Posted August 11, 2016 #49 Share Posted August 11, 2016 My goodness! Folks are sure harsh about NCL and their ongoing promos. Let me just interject to say that I don't think there's a better vacation value on the planet. Granted, I like to drink a fair bit - so I find the UBP (now Open Bar) is a huge perk, and well worth the value of the auto grat - frankly, I think it's worth 5x the value of the grat. I remember what my onboard bills used to be like and while the cost of the cruise has increased marginally, it doesn't come close to off-setting the savings of the built-in bar tab. For what it's worth, I hope the "free at sea" promotion continues ad infinitum.
