tomatecerise Posted August 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2016 I am cheeseholic and i am in love with brie and camembert type of cheese. Can i expect them in Windjammer or elsewhere on board?
Trainman-2 Posted August 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2016 You usually won't find them in the Windjammer although I have seen cheese and fruit displays there with them from time to time for dinner. However, if you dine in the MDR at a regular table you can request a cheese plate and/or a fruit plate for your table at the start of each dinner meal and have a good chance at getting them if you ask. Clarea Posted August 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2016 We usually get the brie when we order a cheese plate from room service.
spookwife Posted August 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Vintages may offer a better selection of artisanal cheeses plus the room service offering is usually decent. Any of the specialty venues also offers a cheese plate
tomatecerise Posted August 10, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Thank You! I think i Will request the cheese Plate at the dining room each night :)
Brigbound Posted August 10, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Get a couple orders from room service on a sea day, grab a bit of 'charcuterie' from WJ, open a bottle of wine, and bliss!

I've always been able to get them in the Windjammer at dinner time. Would rather have cheese than the desserts sometimes!

You will find a huge stack of American cheese singles along side a pair of tongs that a chef could use to flip a 5 pound steak. :)

I agree, lots of cheese choices in the WJ at dinner.
Merion_Mom Posted August 11, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 11, 2016 There is a place in the buffet line in the Windjammer at night for "antipasto". (their label, not mine). I usually see brie, bleu, and two or three other varieties.

Langley Cruisers Posted August 11, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Sorry, I feel the cheese plate in the MDR is awful. Have tried it a few times on various ships, just a disappointment. The cheeses of note are in the WJ at dinner time - very nice selection, some nuts, dried apricots, etc. :)
Poohb Posted August 11, 2016 #15 Share Posted August 11, 2016 You will often find brie in the Tutti salad bar in the MDR at lunch. DH's favorite.

hannibal54 Posted August 12, 2016 #18 Share Posted August 12, 2016 As my girlfriend just said, you could always bring some on the ship with you. I know it would be nice to have theirs rather than yours, but it is an option.
celie1110 Posted August 12, 2016 #19 Share Posted August 12, 2016 I agree, lots of cheese choices in the WJ at dinner. Yes- I have always seen lots of cheeses at the Windjammer. Actually, that was the first time I ever had goat cheese and loved it.
39august Posted August 12, 2016 #20 Share Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Lots of choices in WJ at dinner time. I always find brie there. Some ships have bread sticks and some have crackers. Some only have soda crackers. Ugh. But there are always lots of bread choices to go with your cheese. You can make up a much better cheese plate in the WJ than the MDR offers. I am also a cheeseaholic. So trust me on this! If you are cruising on LB, at least one night in the WJ, they have been offering various soft cheeses (brie, blue, etc.) melted inside loaves of garlic bread, rosemary bread, etc. To die for. Guess I'll go pour myself a glass of wine and slice up some cheese.
