Guests in Cagney's?

NCL invites suite guests to breakfast in Cagney's on the Spirit, but the suite guest isn't permitted to extend that invitation to others.

If a suite guest wishes to dine with other non-suite guests, there is nothing stopping them from dining together in the MDR or the buffet. Problem solved.

It all depends on what the "real" issue is, doesn't it?

If the haven guest is looking for a way to dine with the non-haven guest, then yes...simply join them in the MDR or buffet.

However, if the "real" issue is finding a way to give haven benefits to guests who have not paid for them, then the haven guest might try to invite them in, despite how inappropriate that would be.

I always wanted to ask those suite guest who want to bring non-suite guest to Cagney's for breakfast or lunch how they would feel if everyone was able to do this and then they would have to wait for a table, because everyone wanted to eat in their with their friends. I wonder if they would feel that they were getting what they paid for!!!

We stay in suites and we traveled with friends who booked a mini suite. I suggested they run the Meet & Greet as sometimes the Captain "gifts" the organizer and spouse/travel partner with some suite amenities. They did and the Captain did grant the suite gift. I have to admit it is a great idea because years ago we did that and we got hooked. We have been sailing in suites since. :D I have run a M&G staying in a suite as no one seemed to want to do it and I really do enjoy the fun. Alas no extras if you are already booked in a suite LOL

That's always happened on my cruises. I like to see someone who is not in a suite set up the meet and greet, but I don't like when some get aggressive about wanting to be the organizer.

A delicate matter at the most - "BUT" there are cruise officials; you have made

note of the Captain - there is one other ranking official with 4 bars on the

shoulder - the Hotel Director as well as the cruise concierge who can make

most anything happen.

You are in a suite as a solo - I am sure that you could invite a SOLO guest

since you are paying double occupancy besides a table for two is so much

more entertaining than one. Convincing argument ?

Now bump this up a notch for two or three guests - you are tilting out of the

grey area where some official intervention would be necessary for perhaps

a one time event. Certainly not all 7 days of a 7 day cruise. Any more folks

and it just makes sense to inquire of the aft MDR Matri-d for a private section

in a corner for a party of 4 or more.

The food and service will be pretty much the same maybe missing the ambience.

Possible though for getting your crowd in Cagneys late in the morning when

Cagneys would be almost if not empty due to the bulk of the eligible folks

being off ship on a popular shore excursion - doesn't make a lot sense to have

all the staff and food available and no one to wait on.

Run this one by the Concierge for a one time event with a favorable tip.

Being a Latitudes repeat customer may not merit any consideration but then

like the casinos - if you are high roller of record - well then NCL wants you

back maybe not at the 76 point level but 500 or more is not something to

just pass off the cuff !

With the present corporate management the lid may be on real tightly for

the crew to offer extra attention and amenities - - -

"BUT YOU WILL NEVER KNOW UNLESS YOU ASK - NOTHING VENTURED NOTHING GAINED " !

Ahh, sorry I did not know that. It still appears on page 15 of the welcome e-book they send to Haven guests. http://ncl.com/welcomethehaven

That is still the outdated book they had when we went in December 2015 and March 2016 which is signed by Sheehan. Other things still wrong/changed = surcharges listed at 15%. They also had the old DSC amount in the brochure last I checked.

Whoever taught you to go from rude to snotty in less than 30 seconds did an extraordinary job. My question was honest, earnest, and innocent. Every response other than yours was helpful, courteous, and kind. It's responses like yours that keep first timers on these boards very reluctant to ask honest questions when a courteous answer is needed and appreciated.
